Yup. But can be fixed. Stock steering boxes were sloppy. Police boxes were tight. Can be rebuilt to give precise steering. Car needs more caster than came from factory - not a difficult fix. Lower control arm pivot shafts replaced with stronger units and polyurethane bushings plus beefed up strut rods. None of these fixes are terribly expensive, and they will completely transform the steering.
While there might be little things that give out here and there, these cars are much more reliable than modern ones. Very little electronics, and very easy to work on even while not being mechanically inclined.
You don't have all the electronic sensors, electrical wiring, and computer to give you problems. I'd say they are more reliable when properly maintained... fuel economy is the big downside. 😂
If people daily drove them in 1970, there's no reason you couldn't drive it today. In stock form, it's just a family car. It has 5 seats and plenty of room inside, and a big trunk for when you go on vacation. The Charger is popular enough to where you can still get the consumable parts for it on the rare occasion it does break. You just have to put up with the usual old car things like more frequent oil and spark plug changes, troublesome starting on cold mornings, poor gas mileage, and ineffective creature comforts such as practically useless defrosters, heaters, and no air conditioning. The biggest old car caveat of all, is you absolutely could not drive it anywhere the roads get salted, because it is a rust magnet. It would best to keep it out west.
Typical of old Chargers. I detailed all the fixes that can be done in a response to another post. There’s about 6 things that can be done that will DRAMATICALLY improve handling. Bone stock, it was a crap shoot whether you’d get a good one off the assembly line. Usually you wouldn’t. The ‘70 R/T I currently own is 100 times better than the other three I owned.
Great vid- no talking, just driving. Let the engine do the communicating. 👍
Very nice Car Bro.. Greetz from Germany 🙂
What a beast
That sounds so husky! Keep 'em coming.
constantly steering

just needs a manual-swap
Is the 1970 dodge charger still reliable and usable in 2024 or are they more of a show case car now?
they are surprisingly reliable, you could feasibly daily drive one
Showcase car in terms of price you will pay 🤯🤯

Are the streets wet?
Yes...that's why no full acceleration, only 1/4 throttle.
Definitely needs a manual
Overall it is awesome charger.😎🚔
ESO SI ES UN CARRO. A QUEMAR GASOLINA COMO DEBE SER. NO ESAS PORQUERIAS DE TESLA O DE CUALQUIER OTRO VEHICULO ELECTRICO
Sounds like a bus..steering looks very loose..
