The song came out when my family was going through it. I first heard it on my way home from visiting my nieces in a foster home. My sister was strung out on meth, her husband was a drug dealer/alcoholic. I once visited my sister, she was passed out on the couch from a bad trip. When I taught in MD near DC my first year of teaching I had a little boy (this was kindergarten) who saw his dad kill his mom.. this little boy will forever be in my heart. There were times he would be raging mad and then just collapse in my arms crying.. he got better over the year with therapy and I would like to think because of the loving and safe environment of the classroom as well,, but that boy had my heart and still does 15 years later.. I always wondered what happened to him, what is he doing now.. He was soo sweet and all his anger came from not being able to process what he saw,, I hope he got the love and care he needed with his other teachers as he grew.. he deserves the world and then some. That moment in his life changed him forever

I bet I’ve heard that song a 100 times since it came out years ago and never thought anything about it, but this was the first time since my daughter was born and I’m crying like a baby! Funny how things change!
Half, that's the most emotional that I've seen you. But, for good reason. You are a good-hearted person who knows all too well that this story is played out all over in various communities, and the kids are the ones that suffer. I feel the same. We wish we could be there to help them and smack some sense into the parents. I wish it was that easy. Crimes against kids get my blood boiling! You don't know what I would do to those people. And, I pray, it never happens in front of me, because the Lord would have to steady my hands and heart before I did something awful. You guys ROCK for putting these songs and videos out there. MUCH LOVE!

I cry everytime I see this. It is such a powerful song and message.
Reason 5000 I love country music it touches subjects like this that others won't or if they do they do it in a way that is hard to understand country music is soft and the videos are right in your face so anyone can understand and they can get powerful messages around to everyone
You guys stay safe and don't let noone steal your joy! I have seen John Michael Montgomery in concert..always been a fan. He pours his heart into his music.
I like all genres of music but I believe that most country music songs have slot of true meanings behind them. They really tell the story of life. Keep up the good work.
Just gotta say ~ you two are truly a Blessing in 'these times'.
So very precious is your Light.
Wishes, and PRAYERS, for 'Peace On Earth', as was Ordained Two Thousand & Twenty years ago ♡
LOVE IS the Only True Power!
The Power of Love Will Overcome All ... 'and we shall live as one' (John Lennon, Imagine).
No matter how dark it seems ... The Light is always there finding its way to You.
Thank you Half and Jai
I don't even know what to say about that video....
Thanks for the genuine reactions... Love to y'all.
I bet I’ve heard that song a 100 times since it came out years ago and never thought anything about it, but this was the first time since my daughter was born and I’m crying like a baby! Funny how things change!
This song gets me every time
This song always brings tears to my eyes, very emotional
This song is a powerful song, and I appreciate you reacting to it!
MUCH LOVE!
Aww this a such a sad but beautiful song I cry every time💖💖💗😪💞🍃
Letters from home from him is great song as well !
He is such a great song writer and performer, great reaction to a great song. This song hits the emotional switch every single time I listen to it and hear the cross portion. Awesome job you two!
Side note, some songs you can listen to offline, if you haven't already,
Randy Travis: Three Wooden Crosses
Tim McGraw: Don't Take the Girl
Kenny Rogers: Coward of the County (also a movie)
This is one of my favorite songs of all time
Seeing your precious reactions to this baby girls story! Jesus said Suffer the little children to come unto me! God is so good! This old Ga. grandma loves you both and has adopted you!
It is truly wonderful watching you embrace country music. Jai you are soft hearted and the two of you together is fun to watch.
