Brilliant take on the goated elevator ride we all know and love! I imagine the change in theme and original story was because The Twilight Zone is probably relatively unheard of in Japan, what with it being an old American TV show. The fact they were able to pull off the original story and create an absolutely BANGER thrill ride is impressive :D
The background story has been changed from the original because the Japanese Tower of Terror is located on the American Waterfront. The area was designed to resemble New York City in the early 20th century, so the story needed to be adapted to that.
As a fan from Japan, thank you so much for introducing the TDR ride with subs! I'm not sure who wrote this Eng subs, but I think the content could be more like... ----- 0:37 Do not take another step ahead from here 0:40 or you must meet the same fate as me - 1:40 You fools, why didn’t you listen to me 1:45 however the most foolish man would be me 1:49 absorbed in collecting the curious artifacts around the globe… 1:54 …and finally brought myself to ruin 2:32 Now, wave your hand and say goodbye to yourself in this world 3:35 (However,) be careful! Never be possessed by a temptation of terror. (and never come here again) ----- The last line is especially stunning for me because we have no choice but to find ourselves possessed by the temptation of this attraction’s terror!
Thanks! I wrote the subs myself with my limited Japanese haha, thanks for helping out with the subs. If I ever update the subs in the future I will use this instead!
@@LMGVids Oh I see, that's great! I can imagine how tough it is to maki videos in a foreign language... if you have another opportunity to post ToT with subs, use my subs as another option :) Anyway, subbed POVs are appreciated for international guests (and Japanese Disney fans too), thank you for this video!
Love this version, however now having rode it, the drops are really tame even compared to Disney Standards of intensity. I heard they sometimes have events for this where the drops are more intense but it should be like that all year.
Truly. I'd say the Shadow of Shiriki version should be the standard run but there are some instances where they run 2 or all of the versions at the same time at different shafts.
They way he said 'Bakabakashii' is more on the lines of "How silly" or "That's ludacris." If he said it in a more angry tone then it becomes "that's bullshit". In Japanese the way you say the word changes the connotation.
I felt “what a load of BS” fit the tone of the attraction better since in English “Ridiculous” or “that’s silly” sounds more funny and loose compared to the context of the pre show

Thanks a lot for the subtitles! It really helps to understand the storytelling.
I'm here right mow watching the video, as i opted out of riding the ride lol
The Vocalist for Shuriki Utundu is Richard Horvitz aka Billy and Zim
Excellent video very detailed tour.
The line is more terror than the ride 😂😂
Love this version, however now having rode it, the drops are really tame even compared to Disney Standards of intensity. I heard they sometimes have events for this where the drops are more intense but it should be like that all year.
The events with the most drops are Tower of Terror level 13 and Shadow of Shiriki. These are Tokyo DisneySea's winter-only specialties.
Truly. I'd say the Shadow of Shiriki version should be the standard run but there are some instances where they run 2 or all of the versions at the same time at different shafts.
The queue looks like revenge of the mummy.
Can’t wait to go on this again! Thanks for the translation I finally know what they’re saying 😂
How did you translate it? Do you have a friend that speaks Japanese?
I will be there on June 25th to the 27th and I will do my best to do a RUclips video of it!!!!
This ride is better than WDW, tell me otherwise! Story and theming was top notch.
0:27 didn’t know they swear at disney parks

I went on that ride and passed out for a sec😭
1:00 - 1:13
How Does It Work???
The base is hollow and it seems like it falls down when it's darkest! I'm not good at English so I hope this translation will help me understand.
高速で下に落ちてるだけ
this is Doors in real life
Indiana jones adventure temple of crystal skull pls
He says the exact same thing as the anaheim one. Except the part where he says "you looked into the eye's" he says "you angered the crystal skull"
I ride that ride yesterday and if you haven’t don’t go there
Personally I’m not a fan of the seat belts because they are basically seat belts for a car and you lose the lift of your seat feeling.
nope guys i played this yesterday get the hell outta there
