No..David was first..David is in Leonard..I saw Roseanne back in heyday..that's why Leonard hit..cuz David character was so real..he was in Leonard..love big bang also

So weird because when I first started watching TBBT I thought the opposite… He was David to me. However, after watching that show he’s Leonard to me.

I think they are only separated, so they are still married. Sara alluded to this in an interview. I bet Johnny will do more episodes next season. He and Sara are lifelong friends. I always bought the love between David and Darlene. There’s so much onscreen chem with these two.

It is realistic because they married extremely young, but I don't like David being made into a loser. He lacked direction, but he was responsible, caring, and hard working. It makes sense that he would never get to be all that financially successful, but it doesn't make sense that he would abandon his family.

But I here next season might be the end of BIG bang theory so then he will probably be on Roseanne full time.

I think it's fitting that they're not together. First loves don't always last and they always had a rocky relationship because Darlene was strong headed and David was emotional and thought with his heart . The loss of Mark would mess with him emotionally too because he was the only family he had. So he couldn't handle that and Darlene's tough edged additide. Maybe theyll reunite but if they don't it's not terrible because if they're making this as real as when it first aired, you realize things in life don't turn out like you planned.There's not always a happy ending

I dunno about that. It was more than a decade between Roseanne and BBT. Leonard doesn't really look that much like teen David (for a character by the same person), but adult David looks too much like Leonard even if they're trying to make him look different.

It sounds like his normal, voice, which is David's voice, he only sounds different from TBBT, because he talks in a nasal voice for that show.
They could have chosen that as a tie in to Mark's death, since they were brothers it could have affected David very severely to lose his brother. Especially since David tended to be more emotional.

I HOPE the writers are READING EVERYONE’S comments on here...INCLUDING Johnny..since David is his character...this WILL give them GREATER insight on WHAT the audience WANTS in CONTINUING the success of the show.
They probably can’t afford him so that probably why they asked to him come back for one episode. Johnny is makes about one million per episode on Big Bang.

Don't like the deadbeat dad storyline. It's just not possible to really be funny or enjoyabe. They should have had a different story line for that.

Saw this episode, and I was torn. I feel like Darleen has lost her Darleenish attitude. She needs to bring it back, and the bland banter between her and Lecy needs to be spiced up. I don't like how they are having Becky be an alcoholic.

I recognized Sara when she was guest starring on Big Bang Theory, she played Leonard’s love interest a couple of times... when I found out they originally played love interests on Roseanne I was actually mind blown! They have good chemistry but holy fuck it’s so weird seeing Johnny play something else OTHER than a Physicist! Also he uses a different voice in this character it’s all so weird omg haha
Us older folks thought the same when Johnny played Leonard...just when I was just getting used to his nerdy voice..he comes back to Roseanne. ‘Maybe’ if the David character was MORE stylish..ie: hair..and get rid of the 5 o’clock OVERGROWN shadow...and NOT BE a lazy DEAD BEAT Dad going through a window...people wouldn’t be speaking negatively..although THE TRUTH about David’s character. I REALLY HOPE the writers on Roseanne as well as Johnny READ ALL OF THESE COMMENTS people have written on here...because there is A LOT of CONSTRUCTIVE criticism which is GREAT for future shows...and gives them a GREATER INSIGHT on their audience.

I REALLY DON’T KNOW WHY writers have such a HARD TIME EVOLVING a character from childhood/youth to adulthood. They seem to ‘dumb-down’ the adult..when the child/youth character ‘GROWS UP’...it ACTUALLY MAKES their ‘YOUNGER SELVES’ MORE Intelligent..then when they GROW UP to be adults...this is what they did with the Gilligan character in the Gilligan’s Island movies..the trick is to ELIMINATE the naive and ‘innocent’ routine..because it is ‘cute’ when your ‘young’..but it is NOT..REPEAT...NOT CUTE WHEN YOU ARE AN ADULT!!! It makes the character REALLY STUPID AND DUMB!!! They SHOULD BE BUILDING ON ‘OTHER’ personality traits..that they CAN bring into adulthood...just wait till my college courses are over...I WILL HELP You.
The writers RUINED from kid to adulthood characters ALSO with The Facts of Life...and Eight is Enough as well. The REALLY SHOULD bring in FANS of these shows and HAVE a MAJOR “FOCUS” Group WITH the writers to do a GREAT QUALITY show ..that is TRUE to the characters... you can see it from the comments about Johnny’s character regarding David on RUclips. Bottom line..fans of the show DON’T LIKE ‘Adult’ David. ..because Johnny and the writers DUMBED HIM DOWN..TOOO MUCH..that it was OUT OF CHARACTER of David’s younger self.

and there is WAY to much Sarah Gilbert(darlene) on the show! becky and especialy D.J, were hardly in it, And I'd like to see more of Roseanne and DAn, who are actually funny! unlike Sarah gilberts character who is NOT funny at all. I mean, she was funny as a kid, but as an adult, the character of darlene is just boring! they should write more for dan and roseanne!

I was a big Roseanne fan back in the day (the first 5 seasons anyway). I gave the reboot a shot for a few episodes, but honestly..... it's not very good at all. The acting is marginal, the writing is weak, and the jokes are corny and predictable. I had high hopes, but sorry.... I'm done watching.

Well replying to you all, most certainly I understand his role in this show. Honestly wasn’t talking just about this. I viewed him on a talk show and he was looking pretty much the same. It was an interview about his new show, Living Biblically. Also on the Big Bang Theory he does not look this bad but he has put on weight. He’s so short and it shows up more.
