Yall...I made these for dinner tonight and I just took a sample off one of the legs (the meat is tender fall off the bone)...yall...omg...the best smothered turkey wing recipe I ever had in my life. I seasoned and pan fried the turkey wings, then sauteed some red and green bell peppers with onions. I made my gravy with the leftover flour, chicken broth, heavy cream (cause I did not have half and half)...then seasoned my gravy with a little bit of sage, seasoned salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. The gravy was so rich, and creamy, and delicious. The sides will be yellow rice, roasted potatoes, and lima beans, with apricot cornbread. (I have a family of 6 to feed so 8 large turkey legs cooked for about 4.5 hours.)(been cooking since this morning...it's almost 3pm now) This recipe is everything :)
Here for my yearly refresher. This really saved me from having to cook whole turkeys. 😅 I thought I wasn’t going to be able to fine any legs this year because of the shortage, but I got some! Will be cooking in a couple hours. ❤️❤️❤️

This was supper tonight. It was a hit! When I make a recipe for the first time I try to follow the directions precisely... This is the only way to truly make a comment thats accurate. I worried that there might be too much salt, I had to triple the recipe. The rub was wonderful. It was very flavorful and I will definitely make this again. In fact, my husband just called as I was writing this and thanked me for the really delicious and tender turkey legs. He thought I had made them in the pressure cooker. He doesn't usually like them much but really liked these. Thanks Rosy for sharing a keeper recipe! Michelle
