  • This coach was never a transit bus. It came off the MCI production line in 1978 and was professionally converted by Custom Coach for delivery to Lowell Lundstrom Ministries in 1979. I'm told that the ministry purchased three of these and that all three are still out there.
I believe that this is one of the most mechanically sound coaches of this vintage on the road today. We have driven it a little over 3,000 miles in the last few months and have had absolutely zero problems of any kind. On the trip from Ohio to Florida I towed a car behind it, went up and over the Appalachian Mountains, and it never complained a bit. In 3,000 miles it has used (as far as I can tell) a bit less than a quart of oil. No, I'm not joking. It doesn't leak. It doesn't smoke AT ALL. The white car that I was towing behind it was still white when I got to Florida. It wasn't squeaky clean, but it was still white. Which I didn't expect.
The automatic transmission works flawlessly, and is SO much easier to drive than our last coach, an MC7 with a 4-sp manual.

This looks like a very nice bus and whoever bought it hopefully will care for it as well as the previous owner(s).
