    I had a mass beside my eye. I went in to have it removed. Turns out my lacrimal gland was prolapsed. She tacked it back in place. However, I am 5mths after surgery, 6 follow up appointments, still miserable. Missing eyelashes, swollen eyelid, constant poking inside my outer corner. I am pretty sure there is still a stich inside my lid and they are ignoring it. I have zero tears. Only had surgery on one eye. Non-surgery eye is perfect. I'm beyond exasperated.

      @@Feelelegant679 the surgeon did not reconnect several muscles, did not trim eyelid skin. I don't really know what she did. But a 2nd surgeon tried to fix it. I'm still messed up and miserable every day. Can't go into places with air blowing or outside really. Lost vision in my eye. It's been super fun.

    My sclera shows slightly below my iris. It's very slight and if i squint slightly (more like, about to squint) it's normal. That little 1mm(if that) is making me look a bit tired. They've always been this way and i'm just wondering what can be done.
    When i blink tightly a few times, my eyes look great! the sclera isn't visible. Then it shows again. IS this muscle weakness? Could this be helped without surgery? It's so minimal i can't justify surgery - Any advice is appreciated!
    Also have very mild ptosis in my left eyes, which, again, if i blink a bit heavier and a lot, it fixes it. My ptosis doesn't usually drop, it's so mild that the majority of the day it's not even noticeable. But when i rub my eyes i can see it droop a little.
    Sorry for the response, any poor grammar or typos can be down to me being in a rush. OF course without an examination you can't give much help but any is TRULY appreciated.

      Hi Daavidd,
      Thank you for your question. In general, subtle differences in the position of the upper and lower eyelids are considered normal variation. Most people have asymmetric faces. If there is any change you have observed or if you are not sure, meet with a specialist for a proper evaluation. I hope this helps you.

    Hello doctor, I had a transconjunctival with fat transposition done 5 weeks ago. My right eyelid is a bit retracted. No swelling, just a bit of bruising left. I thought this was uncommon for this type of surgery.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  Год назад

      Hi voemor,
      While lower eyelid retraction is less of a risk with the transconjunctival approach, it isn't entirely clear how your surgeon performed the surgery, so I can't say for sure what happened. I would need to perform a physical examination for a proper second opinion on your case. I hope this helps you.

    Hello Doctor! How long after surgery can you tell the lid is in proper position? I understand swelling and healing may take months for final result. Also can laser resurfacing make it the skin tight causing very slight drooping for a time until all healing is complete?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Carrie P,
      You are right that swelling can take some time to subside, but how long it takes depends on the patient, the surgical techniques used, the type of surgery, and type of anesthesia also affects how long healing takes. While laser can tighten the skin, it won't tighten it so much to cause temporary drooping during the recovery period. I hope this clarifies things for you.

    Three weeks later I did lower lid blepharoplasty my right eye little droopy , my surgeon says will be fix after few months , is it possible?

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  2 года назад

      Hi Rubina Amjad,
      Lower eyelid retraction is common with an external incision is used in lower eyelid surgery, and if lower eyelid skin was excised. I can't say for sure what happened to you without an examination. You can refer to this video on how we avoid compromising lower eyelid support during surgery, and how it can be revised if it occurred from a previous surgery - ruclips.net/video/VI4Z0rDO5C8/видео.html

    Hi doctor, I (f,33) had and underlid-"correction" done which ended up terrible. It is now six months ago. Would you consider canthopexy or skin graft? The doctor who did that mistake told me he has not removed any skin, just fat...obviously it was not true. :(
    I suffer so much! I hope you can tell me if there is a way. And also I am wondering about that dark colour under my eyes although the swelling has been gone for long! Is this scar tissue under the skinf or is it from outside?
    Thank you so much! Can I send you a photo? /Users/test/Desktop/underlid-surgery.png

      Hi Coco Loro,
      I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Your photo is not accessible, but it would require a physical exam anyway before I can determine which corrective procedure will help you. You can contact us through prasadcosmeticsurgery.com, and we can also arrange a consultation through Skype if you're not in the New York area. I hope I can help you.

      Amiya Prasad, M.D. Hi doctor, thanks a lot for you answer! I have exact. 2,5 mm scleral show on both sides after 7 months of surgery.

    • @AmiyaPrasadMD
      @AmiyaPrasadMD  9 лет назад +1

      Hi Coco,
      You may have eyelid retraction, but a revision after 7 months may not be enough time for the initial surgery to fully heal. A physical exam will determine if you have fully healed from the initial surgery, and which revision procedure would best suit your anatomy. I do recommend you discuss this with your initial surgeon, but if they are unable to remedy it, meet with an eyelid specialist. Your surgeon may have not removed skin, but lower eyelid support structures may have been compromised and made lax, contributing to your scleral show. Hope this further clarifies things for you.
