- The Pantry by Marble is a grocery, patisserie, ice cream, pizzeria, and coffee shop on the go store connected to a Sasol petrol station. It's also open 24 hours a day.
Mark Sham visited David Higgs to find out how this crazy concept came about, as well as make a few items on the menu, and just have a good laugh while doing so.

The famous Pantry had fast become a weekly treat for most. The innovation to change the basic set up of a Petrol Station is incredible.
I'm a 36 year old South African but this is my first-time hearing of this petrol station in my life.This revolutionize the whole thing,I'm mind blown..😱👌💪👍

I bumped into this gas station a year ago when i was just driving around in SA... it's wild. I loved it
Absolutely love this concept. I speak on behalf of all Capetonians, We most definitely need The Pantry in Cape Town.
It would do so well here , we've got the car scene on a Sunday in Seapoint, the nightlife in Town, businesses situated in the area, beach is flooded with people on weekends and all other surrounds, its just generally always busy here and if you've been here before you know its all a stone throw away from each other. We would love to have 1 here , looking forward to seeing it.
The Pantry is amazing! The quality and the hours are perfect but it really is the people. Everyone is so kind and just lovely even at 2am.

I love The Pantry, not just for their amazing burgers and pastries, it’s also the only place I can seem to get Root Beer.
One of my favourite places in the world. There gourmet mini cakes, beef burgers and pizzas are too class.
Also there deli salads, fresh and full of flavour.

Definitely on the right track here, I have not been there before. If they have electric charging for vehicles this will be the perfect place for a stop. While you shop your car is being charged and makes the time fly by. Happy to share my idea with the owner

This is Absolutely Awesome Mark, there is only one problem you don't say where this petrol station is so that we can go there & see for ourselves, this is very disappointing 😢
Nothing a bit of "google-fu" can't solve. But the place is quite renowned in Johannesburg. It's situated at 170 Jan Smuts Ave, in Rosebank.

Those burgers were HEAVENLY. 🤤Think I might have found my new favorite spot.
The Windmills outside Notties on the N3 is perhaps prettier, with the same garage restaurant vibe.
The Pantry has a more posh Parisian/Euro upscale vibe to it. The Windmills has amazing bread, pies, food, etc, but its got more of a proper SA farm style to it - Proper rustic Midland vibe. Totally different feel.
