Its very interesting that Wolf talks about his lead break on 'You're to Blame' as having worked out sections to it which make it really interesting as a musical narrative.....His Father would occasionally do that in the studio too. For instance he told the Guitar institute of Technology that he worked out the lead break of 'Push comes to Shove' from the Fair Warning album in the studio with Don Landee back in 1981 .....But just like his Dad did with that solo what Wolf has done here is to play this worked out solo with so much FEEL, SWING & LOOSENESS that when you listen to the recording it SOUNDS & FEELS IMPROVISED.

When Wolf joined VH on tour in 2007 it was his Uncle Alex at the press conference who said it best - 'This kid's talent can be described in three letters - 'DNA' ......lol ....Alex also once said in an interview about his brother - 'When ED first picked up a guitar as a kid at the age of 12 he could play better than other players who had already been playing for YEARS.' And Ed was self taught....So was Wolf (because Dad didn't dig playing in slow mo...lol).....The next generation forward Wolf picks up the VH set basslines at the drop of a hat & he's got Tremonti's stuff down like lightning.....With DNA lineage history repeats itself.
I can still remember the day I heard of him being born. I was 12 years old, almost 13, and I was watching MTV one evening after school. MTV news with Kurt Loder then came on and Kurt ha Wolf's birth as the top story. And even then, my initial thought was "this is going to be interesting to see how this pans out in the future..." Since then, I can't recall too many articles I've read where Eddie didn't mention Wolf at some point, then tell about how it would be a dream for him If he got into music as well, and of they could maek music together" .... and here we are, as that distant future is here. Wolfgang I think that you should play bass get rid of the bass player a strong lead guitar with vocals get rid of the river river you're driving the base you're driving the band with lead and it should be driven by the base Wolfgang is going to wear you out
I know you are just being an ass, but yeah... Wolf was most likely depressed about his dad. He should get it together a bit now though. Especially since being a rock star has a certain level of vanity to it.
@@oaktowndimond668 Well, I think Wolf is more of a purist musician like his Dad was than a 'Rock Star' really. I guess different individuals have their own ways of coping with grief differently....With Ed I just feel that instead of feeling sad that he's gone we should feel grateful that he ever came among us at all.
Dave was much more the Rockstar than ED really.....Dave used to say really comic things about rock stardom though I remember...lol....He said - 'Rock stars by tradition are rather like dogs who chase cars....We make a lot of noise, & get a lot of attention but we don't last too long'.....lol ......Well, let's just say this - We're GLAD Dave lasted long after all of it because Dave is FUNNY & in these troubling times we NEED laughter.

He's a really good kid(man). Kid to me lol
And even then, my initial thought was "this is going to be interesting to see how this pans out in the future..."
Since then, I can't recall too many articles I've read where Eddie didn't mention Wolf at some point, then tell about how it would be a dream for him If he got into music as well, and of they could maek music together" .... and here we are, as that distant future is here. Although, I didn't anticipate on it being what it is currently, in terms of Van Halen... but yeah, I still want to refer to him as "kid" myself
@@jackmomma7481 ....yeah.i was 15 when he was bor.it was a headliner.Back then my young silly self was thinking why did he name his kid after a pack of wolves.lol
This must be old Cruz they opening up for guns n Rose's in a couple weeks
Looks like some people making rude comments are a bit jeolous he night be overweight but he's making the money are yu and he's nominated for a Grammy are yu
Can we have a ballad
More like 3rd generation musical great. I've wondered for awhile if Jan Van Halen's dad was also an incredible musician
Yes,,,,Go & listen to his Clarinet improvisations on 'Big Bad Bill is Sweet William Now' on the VH Diver Down Album......His tone & phrasing was brilliant.
I loved your father...so you get my love too...
Bonnie Jo did Cover more and more the more I listen to the record your lead performance would leave Focus was jest spot-on
Oh my God I would love to hear you acoustic funny Joseph big fan Bonnie Jo
How does Lisa Marie Presley compared to the king of rock and roll these kids are prodigies of their parents the best parts we're just lucky enough and able enough to be able to enjoy their talents that their parents gave them
Bonnie-jill Family Fun technical things I love the drummer and how he threw his coat on the floor and now he sat down and you racist his sticks and collapsing together and says okay I'm waiting for you
Great kid, solid talent, the wrong era.
So let the talent lead the charge to change the era.
@@walterevans2118 Sounds good dude, sorry to say it’ll unfortunately never happen. Kids got to do it for the love of Rock & Roll.
@@chop3625 Well, WOLF loves Rock N Roll ...He could be the leader of legit rock coming back to prominence.
@@walterevans2118 I’m with you dude. Think about it, Movies, Television, Books, Music, all suck today. Discouraging. My best to Wolf👍BTW, hope you’re right.
Yes.
He looks like Jim Morrison during his last days.
Garrett on drums
You don’t mod a 335 unless you’re gonna toss it in a dumpster latter
Wolf, as the saying goes . . . you do you boo-boo. You were in YOUR DADDY'S BAND for 14 YEARS. All the (pathetic and sad) "haters" can SUCK IT! PERIOD! You created LASTING MEMORIES with YOUR DAD, YOUR UNCLE and the rest of the band, and THAT is the ONLY thing that REALLY MATTERS. END. OF. DISCUSSION.
You're so right
I’m not sure about this guy?
Thank God Wolf isn't a clone. Julian Lennon disappeared after one hit because he was a clone of his dad Bocephus knew what he was doing, it seems Wolfgang does too
Learn guitar from Eddie VH, and drums from Alex VH, and youd be as good as Wolf too, ...not!
Wolfgang I think that you should play bass get rid of the bass player a strong lead guitar with vocals get rid of the river river you're driving the base you're driving the band with lead and it should be driven by the base Wolfgang is going to wear you out
That's funny funny Jose too bright
Why is there no tribute concert for Eddie?? Shame on his son for not making it happen!
It’s too soon. Give him some time.
Shame on him? Really? The young man basically just lost his father. With all due respect, you're being an unreasonable dickhead!
I feel so bad he lost his dad. That’s horrible. I been there. But maybe he seems a bit entitled? Kinda sorta.
dude is looking unhealthily overweight
abnzd guy is sounding unpleasantly ugly. & he could lose weight more easily then you could cultivate any humanity.
What a joke.
