    Fished with Gary years ago, one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and he could catch fish in a bathtub, and what a great teacher.

    Fishing is so much fun, especially with friends. Thanks to Gary , Justin and Bob. I would go fishing with Bob any day on Shasta Lake.

    are these wild trout? or stocked?
    the adipose fin looks normal?

      Could be some of both. Adipose fins aren’t clipped. There is good wild fish reproduction in Shasta. Wild, not necessarily native. Shasta is an impoundment of several rivers that originally had native trout but lots have been planted as well.

    I would love to know the right temps for other fish. I would buy one but knowing the temp doesn't help if you don't know how to match it to where fish like to be

      Go to this Fish Hawk link for temp preferences for different species of fish. If you troll deep water the Fish Hawk TD is an essential tool for success. I highly recommend buying one.

    Gary Miralles is a real pro and a student of the game. He's also a really nice guy.

    I fish Shasta everyday on my kayak..what would good area to try for trout?

      Try launching at Packers Bay and fish the same area you see in this episode. Years ago, while filming a Kayak commercial, I fished side by side out of a kayak with Gary Miralles in his big Duckworth. Gary's boat was the camera boat and I was fishing in the Kayak. Gary had rods out also and we were using the same basic ST products but I caught at least twice as many fish. Big boats do spook the fish. That's why a dodger like the Mack's DD can be good since it planes your lures off to the side. Try lead core. Good luck.

    What area of the lake was this? And what time did you get the lines in the water?

    why not troll worms/crawlers ???

    • @AnglerWestTV
      @AnglerWestTV  7 лет назад +2

      You can troll crawlers for sure. But if you intend to release any fish it's best not to use bait since they tend to get hooked deep. If you're around fish and have the right lures you shouldn't need to hassle with worms. If you do use worms try using a Mack's Wedding Ring or similar lure for a worm harness. The Angler West Barbarian Nightmare by Mack's is a good one. www.anglerwesttv.com/anglerwestbarbariannightmareweddingringbymackslure-1.aspx
