Hi Westindie, please invest in some gloves; to protect yourself from bodily fluids and toxins in the cleaning products. You cleaned 38 rooms in one day...OMG! My grandmother was a Housekeeper, I make sure that I always leave a tip out of respect for my grandmother and knowing this is hard work.

@@daisyisaac7059 as a CNA I was making $25hr as a housekeeper I’m making $18.22. A little cut but a good break for awhile. Plus I make good tips! Made $60 today. On weekends I clear near or more than $100
It’s like cleaning rooms without the patients in it.

Thinking about housekeeping too so I can work alone. I love cleaning but was scared to do it as a job out of fear of people thinking negatively of me or treating me like I’m poor. But idc anymore.

@westindiecollection I seen you on Alanta street interview your pretty not really a fan of Marcus because he gives off creepy vibes by the questions he ask and the rumor is allegedly he sleeps with a lot of homeless women and even made one have and abortion now he is messing with a double amputee who is always smoking and drinking on live so I believe he takes of advantage of women who are down on there luck and he is known not to use protection with these women so be careful with him
Are most housekeepers allowed to have headphones & listen to music while cleaning? Like on your phone? If it’s in a pocket tucked away? Or do they make you put your phone in a locker?
I use to do housekeeping and yes I love it. Don't care about pay. I actually enjoyed my personal space an wrk was easy 😊
My hat truly goes off to you love and I have a degree in hospitality management, and I truly encourage you to go and get your degree in Hospitality Management if this is your passion, and that way you can easily move up into management or another department. You work so hard and ANY hotel or resort would be priviledge to have you! Even if you have to get an Associates Degree online.. there are services avaible.. and let Financial Aid help you. You have what it takes and I truly see leadership wihin you!!! You can even look into substitute teach temporarily as well until you get your degree. But while in the industry you could easily move up while in school. If one hotel doesn't take you.. keep applying and the right one will help you grow and flourish in your career. Some even do tution reimbursement. But, please Sis wear gloves (latex) or other synthetic gloves when cleaning the toilet for your safety. I don't know why your hotel chain is letting you clean without proper protection. There are blood born pathogens on toilets beacause of fecal matter, seman, urine, vomit, and other bodily fluids as well on counter's such as Hep C and other viruses which takes week to be killed even with bleaching agents. I don't want to see yo be harmed as you seem like a beautiful soul and I see your baby boy's picture on your shirt. It's your right as a housekeeper and actually and industry standard and mandate.. so you actually have the legal right to wear gloves. I don't know what state you're in but you have to protect your health first. Sending love,blessings, and prayer your way for 2024! Heyy thank you love! ❤️ & yes we have gloves.. We not forced to wear them. I tried it but I feel like it gets messy like water in my gloves from cleaning the tub. & I’m moving a lot also cleaning rooms. That will be a lot of gloves switching. But I can go back to using gloves just on the toilet atleast. I also constantly washing my hands so I didn’t think not using gloves was a bother.
@westindiecollection Hey love, I completely understand, and I was more worried for you.🙏🏽💝💕 I'm a first-generation American, and when I was a little girl, my Mom worked for a popular hotel and eventually moved to the banquet hall. So I know how hard you work and immediately I am worried. But I'm glad they allow you to wear them. Yes, even if it's wearing them only for the toilet.. use them. All it takes is a small cut or opening in your skin for transmission to happen. But keep flourishing and growing your channel love!! I rather switch a lot of gloves then not to use them because that's not safe. You don't want to bring any harm to your kid.
I’m doing housekeeping after doing elderly and hospice care for 5 years. That just I’ve just been emotionally drained and exhausted. Now I’m trying this out and so far I like it. I could do without the negativity of some people but other than that. I’m choosing to stay for a while.
I never sit in the break room at lunch. I always sit in my car. All they do is talk about people and work. I like to step out for about 40 minutes to get air. They always have something to say about that too 🙄 We only get one break at 1pm.

Face basin to shower, then toilet from top to bottom and change cleaning rage too, avoiding contamination
Hi just f.y.i. you need to have gloves on cleaning the bathroom.
Also never clean the sink and toilet with the same cloth. They should invest in disinfectant wipes. Clean the top handle and top of seat use a different cloth for under toilet seat and rim and outside of toilet. Remove all dirty glasses and wipe under whatever is on the counter. Ijs
In the past I worked as a housekeeper in a hotel, I like it at the time. I don't want to do housekeeping in a hotel or hospital anymore. Especially the hotel because it's too much work. In my opinion the Assisted living was better for me.
Great video. I was a housekeeper for 18.5 years. It was a great job 👏 for me some of the owners of the timeshare ive known for 18 years so it was bittersweet to say goodbye looking forward to having my Saturdays back with my kiddos

1:Please use gloves especially when cleaning a toilet
2:Start from the top of the toilet & go down...The seat should be wiped last with it's own bleached disposable cloth
& I have a question:What do you all do with the rags that yal clean with??? They look just like the washcloths in the bathrooms
The rags are washed separately. Along with the towels/hand towels that are no longer good.

I didn’t like hotels they were extremely dirty where I worked took me all day I’m going try nursing home cleaning or hospital ik it’s more busier working
38 rooms a day for one person is asking to much. Shame on them for using people like that.
Stay overs are different than checkouts.. A lot of the times we get a lot of Dnds

I really like my job as a hotel housekeeper. 3 years now. 2 hotels. But wish I got paid more. I only make $14/hr. But I do work 40 hrs a week. Might have to work downtown or at a casino to make more. I don't like your cart. Looks small and old. I work at a Marriott and our carts are huge and heavy. Do you still work here?
lol I took what was left. Only like 2 carts are black & bigger the rest I agree are old. We need new ones. & yes I currently work here.
@@westindiecollectionAre they strict with the time at your hotel? For us we have to finish at the time they put on our list. And if we have a dnd it takes away 15 minutes. If we don’t have to clean a vacant room it takes away 30 minutes. I hate it. Manager says he can’t afford to pay us to stay long most days.
The new housekeeper manager is not nice. She takes pictures of our mistakes and send it to us. Which I think is insulting. She doesn’t like to help fix anything when she check rooms. So I may not work here much longer. And she discriminates. She gives her people full time and everyone else who is not Cuban she made part time. She gets away with these things.

Every week I’m in a hotel or and just had his deck for the cleaners. I always clean my mess and try to keep it organized as I can, but I will not lie if you were in my hotel room clean it up. I will ask you to put on my pillow lol
