- Long time no see! Things got cold in the latter part of the winter where I film and eBay reselling got hot! So those both kept me out of the studio. I hope this video helps you taking apart your The Jacket H2O. My next video will feature some diagnostics - we might have to wait a while for a repair if a replacement part is needed. I used this video to repair this Bluetooth speaker. The battery was dead it used a 18650 2000mah 3.7v battery. I used a E-cig battery to repair. Just pryed the battery off and replaced it then electrical tapped it to the plug part. Plugged it in to test and it turned on. Game over. Thanks for this video
Resourceful, well done.
This thing stayed charged for over 30-40 hours for three years until it doesn’t charge now.
Did water get inside it by chance?
I have this same speaker and as you say it's definitely water proof, but unfortunately my problem is the charging port broke
Darn, maybe you can find one for parts on eBay and steal the charging port or the whole board.
@@buildsbacktolife8932 never occurred to me to do that, how difficult you gather it would be? BTW, thank you for the reply
@@quentin1956 No problem, It would just be a matter of finding another speaker listed that is the same model number as yours, ideally with a separate issue that you could disassemble and harvest the parts you need from. There may be some soldering involved though, that would be the highest obstacle to overcome. Worth a shot if it's cheap.
The same.😢
The same, my charging micro usb port broke. Trying to find a way to fix
Thank you very interesting. I have one that I just opened due to a blown speaker. Hoping I can replace them!
Good luck!
Mine kinda when out like there's not really any sound I wonder if the speaker is blown or it's just a wire or compressor
Sure sounds like the speaker. No pun intended.
How did you open that plastic box??
There are clips on the bottom you have to push inward to release.
You can slowly trickle charge those old batteries to get them to hold a charge. Check out Jeff Garcia here on RUclips. He's the expert on batteries
I will look him up. Thank you so much for the tip, I appreciate it.
@@buildsbacktolife8932 its jehugarcia here on yt.
Just a few points to help you in the future, you're background music is too loud, sometimes its really hard to hear what you're saying, and cut out the filler of you talking about nothing, not trying to be rude, hope it helps
I will try to work on those things in the future. Thank you for watching.
just get a new one. who cares
I'm sorry you feel that way. More things should be repaired than thrown away and end up in a landfill.
The guy who's repair channel this is cares, not to mention the thousands of others who would rather replace the battery and save the rest of it from landfill and save money at the same time.
