I’ve watched this whole video 4 times now, absolutely amazing! That leveling vane is really cool. I always wondered how the westy intelligent leveling works, I bet the vane pulses the DC drive on and off. Those door operators look like MAC, which I’ve seen on lots of the later westies.
Yeah actually they were definitely IEE’s. The shape of the indicator matches that of both the original ones I saw. Not to mention it’d make sense for the IEEs to be replaced because they’re not exactly reliable it seems.
@@SPS8elevatorsoflakecounty IEE elevator displays seem pretty stealthy to me considering it's usually just lightbulbs that burn out. The ones retrofitted w/ LEDs will probably work for years.
@@SPS8elevatorsoflakecounty And IEE is still around. But their emphasis is much more towards aircraft heads-up displays these days. They moved from NOHO west straight down Sherman Way to Van Nuys (by VNY airport).
my those are awesome glass elevators! I recall a video of an DMR elevator system overseas one massive DC traction machine, double wrapped, very complex controller. It was a 15 story building. I hope these glass elevators are not modified, they still in good working condition, proper maintenance will last another 50 yrs or longer. The DC traction machine must have a DC drive or rectifier I did hear any MG sets running up in the machine room.
2:1 roping, 2 speed center parting, and "that bell" nice

I thought these got modded! Love these!
These most definitely had IEE PIs as late as the mid 90s. I love them so... ❤
Actually I bet they did, either that or the blue ones.
