Oh my. I slobber a little every time I see a 394. I've always wanted one. The only ones I see anymore, look as if they were drug behind the dozer for a full shift. I suppose I'll have to continue wiping my chin.😂.
Good stuff as always. Refreshers are always good. My resent 272xp timed out similar, 102 exhaust, 24 blow down and 144 duration. I gues it's kinda a sweet spot for the huskies. Then little tickles by the porter to make it sing. Interesting. TC Mahalo Tinman 🤙🤙🤙
@Chainmale In case someone smarter doesn't chime in, the piston ring has already cleared the top of the exhaust port and has entered the port; and, the ray of light is breaking over the crown. The piston ring would be in the shadow the the crown and doesn't effect the ray of light. Good solid question!
I just picked up a husqvarna 50...its a basket case ..blown probably because of air leaks or abuse .why would anyone want to create more heat to a saw that cant take it in the first place.i love making things better but these newer saws suck..I like husqvarna but a lot of things are weak.
The magic is what to do with those numbers. Thanks for sharing.

Do you think that the "first ray of light" is effected by having no rings on the piston when timing the exhaust?
Just thinking out loud
