Interesting fact about Misery: King wrote it as a pseudo-response to readers who didn't like Eyes of the Dragon; he actually received a few death threats over it. It was his first completely non-horror story, which he wrote so his daughter, Naomi, who was very young at the time, would be able to read something he wrote. He basically wrote it with the idea of an "artist's worst nightmare" in mind, and placed himself in a hypothetical situation where he met one of these "crazed fans."

Our tastes in King works align pretty well!
    My own top 10:
    1 - The Stand
    2 - IT
    3 - Pet Semetary
    4 - The Shining
    5 - Wizard and Glass
    6 - Needful Things
    7 - The Wastelands
    8 - 11/22/63
    9 - The Outsider
    10 - The Long Walk
    Honorable mentions:
    - Cujo
    - Doctor Sleep
    - Mr. Mercedes
    - Christine
As far as Salems Lot goes, I read it later on in life, and didn't get out of it what I had wanted. It was good, but I feel like I need to re-read it again, maybe this Oct.
Same with Duma Key (Awesome edition you got, btw). I enjoyed the first half, but kind of started to lose interest towards the end. I got that one also slated for a re-read.

The stand is insanely overrated. King himself said he had no idea where to go with it. Salems lot I think established a lot of tropes we are used to seeing today, but i thought it was pretty bad. It would just jump around to different people in the town we didn’t care about.

Oh I enjoyed it! Finished and loved the whole DT series in fact, but man Susan Delgado’s love to Roland affected me so much emotionally: her last words on the Charyou tree, the bird and bear and hare and fish phrase. Put me to tears!
Left “wind through the keyhole” and “sisters of eurolia” aside on purpose so I could come back to Roland’s life; also ofc I’m gonna reread the whole series again cuz that ending was smart. Makes u wanna reread it and find some easter eggs.
The Stand, omg dude , the friendship between Tom Cullen and Nick, priceless. When Tom sees him in his dream. Just so much good memories from this novel too. What do u think: if I loved The Stand mainly because of the characters, will I also love “IT” based on that?

12:30 I agree to an extent. It was terrifying for the reasons that you said, However I personally was more scared for a character in a book in 11/22/63 when Frank Dunning was trying to kill his family. I feel like it was partially because that was something that could actually happen in real life, and Jack trying to kill his family was mostly due to the Overlook being haunted which just made it a bit less realistic

You guys are really undermining kings work by putting It and shining on top
Doctor sleep is a great book its better than it and shining in my opinion
IT and shining both dint make into my king top 10

I still have over half of his library to read, so I’m excited I still have so much more great content ahead of me.
Thank you for watching and stopping by the channel!

Dina Key was one King’s most boring books.. it could have easily been half the size it was. Way over worded

That’s the beautiful thing about us having an author with such a wide variety of books to read! Sorry Duma Key didn’t work well for you, what’re some of your favorite King books?

@@ColinsCornerYT I realized I spell Duma wrong. lol. I'm a fan of most of his books. Salem's Lot, Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis are just three of my favorites

It’s okay I realized what you meant! I need to read all of Hearts in Atlantis, I’ve only read parts of it. And I just had a friend telling me about Bag of Bones today! That’s another one I need to get to!
