Well, at least we have a boxing game now - but how about Fight Night for the Switch? That would be ace. For me, one of the best boxing games of all time is still the ancient Ring King arcade game. I'd love that to appear from the Hamster/ACA range on the Switch.
Fight Night on Switch should be technically achievable and they even released it in backwards compatibility mode on Xbox so the licences may still be valid.. but its EA we're talking about here so probably zero chance of it happening... its more likely that the original Accolade Fight Night on the C64 would get a port before this one :-)
Scott Nicol Boxing is sadly under represented as a genre though since fight night died. Weird as I'm sure the right game would sell well. Doesn't even need to be super realistic like Fight Night - as I say, Ring King / King of Boxer is super even today and that has to be like 30 years old I would think. Golf similarly you could add as a genre that needs Switch love.
This game is terrible buddy. Fucking terrible. The game makes you miss all your punches unless you're against the bottom rung opponents. It's factually 100 percent unplayable after the 3rd fight. You can't win past the 3rd fight b cause the game makes you miss your punches and allows the cpu to move and punch and move and block. Two features you can't do as a real player.
Targeting system doesn't work and will lock off opponents making it out swing in air but the cpu will factually never once miss any swing on you. The cpu will never be turned around and can punch while moving but you can't punch while moving making you swing in thin air.
The real shame here is it does look like some effort has been made to make the game look tidy (presentation wise) but with little to no depth of gameplay, this should be a couple of quid AT MOST... and even then I'd wait for a sale :-)
Yea exactly. It's the sort of game that would be 99p on mobile and even then you'd feel a bit or remorse after deleting it 5 minutes later. Shame. I have a soft spot for top down boxing games and was really excited when I saw the trailer. I remember c64 magazines back in the day had code that you could type in to create your own games and one of the best ones was a top down boxing game. Was better than this. Crikey, a similar game on the Atari 2600 which if I recall was imaginatively called "Boxing", had more depth!
Fucking shameful. I've never played a boxing game this bad that favors the cpu like this game. This is fucking shameful. I had to literally sue the creators for my money back
Fuck this game is bad. I've never played a game that makes you blatantly miss all your punchs. This game is fucking bad. My speed is higher than all my opponents yet I can't land anything.
DONT BUY THIS GAME. It's so fucking bad it's insane. I've never played a game where I can't land any punches unless it's the absolute bottom ring opponents. I've also never played a game where the lock on makes you miss all your punchs and turns you around in a 180 if your opponent barely moves. Holy fuck this game is fucking terrible. Sue the creators and get your money back.

Just release a new version of Punch Out for the Switch. Nuff said!
How many rounds does this game go ?

It looks like a prime candidate for one of those games that always appear with 90% off in the eshop sales
Yep :( Probably worth it when it hits that price for a fun few games.
It's currently only $1.95 right now 🤣👌🏻
But so is Hard West. I bought that instead 👍🏻
I picked this up today. This game is actually not as bad as it looks. The gameplay is somehow deeper than what watching this video shows.
That’s cool, everyone has different opinions. Glad you are enjoying it!!
Am I the only one who desperately want wii boxing remade for the switch
That would be ace!
Punch out? Ring King? Fight Night? Nope we get this
I know right :( never mind, hopefully we will get a better boxing game soon!

Is it worth £1.27? That's how much it costs today....
Yes
I actually liked this game at first, but really gets old after a while. Needs more features.

This top down view reminds me of that really shitty boxing game for the Atari 2600 way back when. Lol
Yup I had that! Was probably better than this :)
Eeesh that does not look good. You are right, a real opportunity missed here!
Yup, its a bit of a stinker :(

This game looks so boring
Yup. Its like "oh this is pretty cool" for around 30 seconds.
SwitchedOn yea for real
Fuck this game is bad. I've never played a game that makes you blatantly miss all your punchs. This game is fucking bad. My speed is higher than all my opponents yet I can't land anything.
Worst fighting game ever created in game console history.
