    Out of all the many videos I saw that teach how to make it, I believe this is the way I'm used to drinking it. They charge rediculous prices for a gallon or even a bottle so I'm happy to start making my own!! Thanks again!

  • @lamourhowell6772

    Thanks for the video.Thid is what I was raised on in Jamaica.
    The way our Ancestors made it
    I am calling it the
    Heat Method.
    That s preparation by heat.
    Today I do a
    Cold Method
    Wash Sea Moss/Irish Moss well.Three or more times.
    Soak overnight.Blend in the same water,that it has been soaking in overnight.Don t throw out the nitrients in that water..
    Blend until smooth or completely desolved.
    THST S IT.
    I drink it straight.
    You can flavor with milk of your chouce.
    Great with citrus beverage
    Grapefruit,orange,lemon/ lime juice. Any of these.
    Great in smoothies,thicken sauces,cereals desserts.
    Fabulous for hair face nail or entire body masks.
    Promotes Collogen production to fight wrinkles,sagging skin,toning etc.Great for iodine deficiency.
    Please do not ask me for a video because,I don r have one.
    A spoonful a day is recommended..

    it's far better to bring the water to the boil add the ingredients then draw it rather than boiling under additional heat, as you will lose all the essential nutrients, otherwise a very good demonstration. By drawing you let the ingredients stand in the hot water until the water cools naturally; you can then put the mixture through a blender and add coconut milk and honey to taste. bless-up!

      I normally just soak my Irish Moss in some spring water over night covered. I wash the Irish Moss after soaking for 24 hours and I cut it and threw it it in my blender with some water. After blending it turn into this same type of gel like in this video here. The more water you add the more Apple sauce texture it'll become.

    Okay. So I have a question i make sea moss gel but I havent used the boiling technique yet. But I'm definitely going to try it I've noticed that my sea moss gel doesn't last very long. I'm guessing its because i sweeting it with fruits an dates as a natural sweetener. Is that the reason for it spoiling is my question

  • @Naydi88
    @Naydi88 4 года назад +1

    Not bashing your recipe because I'm sure it's very tasty but I Google if sea moss is still nutritious after being boiled that long.
    Its better to wash, soak and blend raw.
    But if you're doing if for taste that long boil is okay.
    I'd blanch mines for minutes then blend it.
    Great recipes, keep up the great work

    May I use almond milk or hemp milk instead of cow's milk? I'm allergic to casein in cow's milk. What do you think about grinding up the left over irish moss and flax mixture and strain it off again to further maximize your nutrients?

      Agreed Black_Dove... if you use hot water water make sure it's only 115f, otherwise, you lose a lot of nutrients, also the sweetened condensed milk is not healthy, so if you are wanting this drink for it's health benefits, you should use coconut milk, honey, agave, date sugar , etc

    • @hicksa1
      @hicksa1 6 лет назад

    Beautiful Vegans can exclude this from my Irishmoss recepe!! I thought it was some kind of seaweed but it's a fish bladder that is used to in the filtration process of beers and wines. Guinness said they in 2016 they would do the vegan thing by 2017 so you have check with them.
    vegans can use almond milk, honey, brown sugar or agave. Also try any raw nuts, banana to experiment!

    what's the purpose of the isinglass?

    • @blakewoodcrest4403
      @blakewoodcrest4403 7 лет назад +4

      Sarah050013, dem peepil yah nuh nuh weh dem a tahk boht (These people don't know what they're saying...). What they call Isinglass is not really Isinglass, it's Agar-Agar. Major difference! Isinglass is made from Fish Bladder and is expensive. The purpose of used to give the the SEA Moss an additional viscosity (jelly like), plus Agar Agar is supposed to have beneficial health properties. Unfortunately most of my people who prepare this drink ruin it by over-boiling, adding artificial ingredients and liquor.

    • @mem3769

      I never heard of white people flaxseed or the black one for that matter, but then I haven't seen everything. I know this is 2 yrs old now, so this is for others. There are golden flaxseeds and brown flaxseeds. From what I've seen they both have the same nutritional values. It doesn't matter which one you use. I have had some people tell me to break- not grind to a powder- but break the seed to get the most out of them. They don't strain the seeds and just drink it all together. Also in cook the Irish moss until it dissolved, along with gum Arabic and a cinnamon stick. If no stick add it powdered, then nutmeg, allspice and sweetener. Sometimes I drink it warm then later I add coconut milk. Delish. Blessings

Mine u tho , I live in Arizona ... so ... it’s hard to find anything other than Mexican items here . Wish I could post a pic of what it looked like after I soaked it . Bless up and respect
