I see bits of No More Heroes, Lollipop Chainsaw, Yakuza, Metal Gear Rising and Ninja Gaiden spread throughout this game's DNA and I can not express how excited I am for it. As someone who misses the old school linear action based gameplay of the sixth generation this game looks like exactly what I miss and what I wish more developers would do nowadays. Tons of charm, creativity and soul on display.

With this game, there are a lot of elements from Devil's Third, down to the same sound effect for some guns. I won't be surprised if Itagaki gets credited again in this game. Also before Soleil was formed, some of these guys were at Valhalla doing Devil's Third.

I’ve been getting kind of sick of open word games I just passed god of war 3 again and it reminded me of how games can have a linear progression while still having small areas to explore and reward the player for doing so. These days most open world games feel empty and most of the time you go to a place that looks like it could have a secret or hidden treasure but then it’s just empty space or something useless like a potion lol. I’m pretty excited for this game it just looks like something you can sit back and veg out on the couch. The fact that there’s no multiplayer is good that means they can focus on the actual game instead of splitting resources to try and make a separate game mode that most likely won’t even catch on like many other games.

It's been like that since pre orders went live. Still not fixed, said its a technical issue last month. And yea they keep advertising it on all platforms for pre order, and they offer early access to playstation pre orders....BUT they still haven't addressed it, I was trying to support them but got tired of waiting and now focused on other titles that come out the same week.

Looks a bit janky, not really "AAA". Interested in this, but it'll depend on the price point. I'm planning to pick up "Scars Above" at the end of Feb (already played the demo, so I know I want the game), and I'm still a bit strapped for cash after end of year expenses, so this'll depend on price point and reviews. For anyone that don`t know, the gameplay takes inspiration from a game called devil`s third and this is the successor to that game, a mix of hack & slash and third person shooting a bloody great combination, when it come to combat, hack and slash is superior. There are lots of hack and slash game coming out: Soulstice Stella blade Project DT Project M Valkyrie Elysium Phantom Hellcat AND MANY MORE! Shouts out to hack & slash games, they are making a comeback.
Dig out The Red Star ps2. It's a beatem up and shooter. Mostly forgotten and unheard of because it was late in the ps2 era. When he mentioned mixing far range and close range combo, I think of Black Widow combat style in Marvel's Avenger game. She can shoot far and come in close for hand to hand combat which has many combos she can handle. Samurai Western, Devil may Cry, Bayonetta. I saw a bit of Max Payne combat in it. So I'm not very surprised in it. Shinobi and Nightshade battle mechanics would be good too but unfortunately most have forgotten these as well.
the thunder sound effect of the first levels (until going back to HQ) is absolutely abysmal... cant believe they picked such an unrealistic and distracting thunder sound for the allegedly most polished part of the project...

This game is good the problem is the main female chracters dint look sexy as much to enjoy it she need to wear more revealing cloth

I'll probably get this just simply for the cyberpunk setting, Yakuza looking mini games, and the combat looks pretty fun too.

I got the game on sale for 30 and the game is fun. It got its janky moments but its fun though. Its so bad, itsgood. 7/10
