Hear from Co-founders, Todd Park & Ed Park, about the five key ingredients that make up Devoted’s all in one Healthcare solution.
On describing the different parts that make up Devoted Health…
Ed: “You can't do the thing that we want, without having the full control of the ability to actually fund it.”
Todd: “Our all in one healthcare solution, If we take a look inside, it consists of five ingredients”:
1. Ingredient number one is: we have built our own health insurance plan. We needed to actually have our own health insurance plan to control what got paid for. So, what got paid for was the exact right stuff that keeps people healthy and well and helps change their decision making and help change their lives.
2. You also need to build your own concierge, guardian angel guide service because healthcare is so doggone complicated and people, you know, find it incredibly difficult to navigate. So you have to supply the ability to people to help them navigate the system.
3. You have to partner with great local doctors and hospitals to help deliver the care that people need, but because their capabilities are so variable and you don't want someone's care to be a function of which doctor they happen to pick and what that doctor happens to have the bandwidth to do.
4. You have to build your own in-house medical group with your own doctors and clinicians of all kinds to supplement the care that someone's doctor can give and basically make sure that people get the right upfront care and service that helps change the arc of their health journey.
5. And then you have to build your own software to run everything I just said.It all comes together in the right care, right place, right time machine software, they can actually build a complete profile of each person and can basically determine what they need next. Such that we then can do what is necessary in a very complex logistical exercise to get people the right care, right place, right time. It's a full scale alternate universe American health care system.
On what to call these five key ingredients….
Todd: “A very very brilliant friend of mine said, “You know what this is? This is an all in one healthcare solution!”
Ed: “Most people are smart, they know how, when they're receiving good advice, they know who to trust. Our best possible mechanism in the world to get any of that done, is to just be authentic in trying to help people. If we do that, then everything else works”.
