You asked for other perspectives about the multiple identities of women in modern society and I thought about a viral vlog I watched recently by a Japanese woman who's married in France who was saying she was struggling because the way her husband supported her to be more independent and be more capable if they ever split up, instead felt cold, alien, and lonely, and she felt like the identities she was expected to have as a modern mother in France were different from the way she was raised and the extra effort to fill these roles her husband takes for granted was contributing to a sense of unfairness.
