    Celebrating the 2nd anniversary of extreme scale FPV flight, the mini 960mm P-51 D Mustang 715gram (V4.0 weight enhancement) beat the odds for years and survive most roughest sky any FPV enthusiast comes into challege and flew beyond the impossible.
    The airframe accumulated more than than 168 of flight hours by mid of 2014, flew many miles, rough weather, windy seas and had many great beautiful adventure. Its still the most formidable and powerful model among all my FPV fleet. On the special end season of 2014 the mustang had its another extreme flight to celebrate its 2nd year of scale FPV flight.
    I'm not adding any background music so you can hear the sound of raw power from the propeller and gushes of extreme weather.

    This is the kind of stuff that I dreamed about as a kid growing up in the sixties and seventies. To see it actually come to reality is one of the greatest things for me - even if I'm not the actual pilot!

      You can actually start your ambition FPV inside a warbird easily. I can tell you the experience flying inside this small plane inside the cockpit on FPV technology is amazing than flying inside simulator or just sit inside as passanger plane. The clouds, the blue sky, passing those cotton clouds under the wings, the spins of prop infront of the dash panels and the realism being in the coolest plane in the world. Better start now than just dream about it. I did make some documentation how to make it works here at my webpage: www.supermotoxl.com/fpvuav-models-builds-and-flight-reviews/498-p-51d-mustang-960mm Trust me you'll be smiling the whole season even just trying one flight.

    This is almost my dream setup, I want a p51 that's like 1.6m wingspan with FPV and head tracking, I want it big so I can fly y eye aswell

      Sound like you need FMS models, 1.6m is really big.

      What does GMS mean? I already have a few 1.6m planes.

    Great video, amazing how it feels like we are flying a real plane! How far can you go with this model, does it support the autopilot features that you used with your other plane over 50km away?

      Thanks for the compliments, This plane can only fly up to 8~7km max straight line and have to be flown manually by stick unlike my other UAV type plane. This one use classic Auto return Autopilot if it lost radio signal, also stabilization and cruise mode to keep the plane stabilized so no self automated flight than return to home automation upon signal lost You can find out more about my P-51D setup at my webpage here: www.supermotoxl.com/fpvuav-models-builds-and-flight-reviews/498-p-51d-mustang-960mm

    hi 3dxl do u use GPS RTH? in case u lost signal.. wondering how 2200mah 3s battery can fly so long.. I also use 3s 2200mah battery but to take care my battery I only limit plane fly not more than 10minutes..

      +Azrul Budiman Md Ishak Yes i used GPS (ARKBIRD system) incase i lost signal. Try google for Hextronik(hobby king) DT750 motor, it consume less power (A) per-flight can have more torque on this plane...which is why on 2200mah 3s lipo it can fly almost forever. All art-tech place mostly use this motor because it has more torque and less power run on stock 20a esc.

    How long does the battery last?

    • @Supermotoxl
      @Supermotoxl  3 года назад

      Roughly 40 minutes on 30% cruise throttle on board 3s 2200mah 40c lipo battery.

    the next plain should be a b52, doing long range flights. what was your total air time .

    • @Supermotoxl
      @Supermotoxl  5 лет назад +2

      I got B52 put still don't to risk losing it since it big and rare. On my FPV P-51D Mustang with fresh new 3s 2200mah 40c lipo running at 30% cruise throttle i can get about between 30~40 minutes at higher altitude because it floats/glide on wind.

    what set up you use to get 27 min of fly?

    • @Supermotoxl
      @Supermotoxl  8 лет назад

      +Kaos985 I just keep my plane total flying weight as light as i could running only 2200mah 3s. You can check out information on mustang build here at my webpage: www.supermotoxl.com/FPV/UAV-models-builds-and-flight-reviews/FPV/UAV-models-builds-and-flight-reviews/p-51d-mustang-960mm/menu-id-119.html

      +3dxl Thx, I will look into that in detail. I have never had a scale plane can fly 27 min with a 2200mah 3S lipo.
      Great plane and fly. ;)

      +Kaos985 A good throttle management and handful of wind under the wings will help to keep the plane floating and less power needed......usually works on high altitude.
