There are the two models that built the brand, and they are back in stock! Easy to see why they are popular. Not spec monsters, but that is not the point. I still wish they put something different in the back of the 3 hander though. Oh well. Cheers, Jody
"You saw the popup" - I never see the popup. I don't know what you're talking about.
You didn't see the paid promotion tiny banner that flashes in the upper left hand corner of the screen?
@@alexzuga7852I’m in the US and it’s during the intro.
It pops up on the intro
Blink and you’ll miss it
@@alexzuga7852you're just not noticing it. I'm also in the US, it's at the top left of the screen as soon as the video starts. It's always done before the intro is over.
Aquascaphe is great too. Lorrier are in direct competition and also make a great watch.
For those wanting higher end swiss movement, Baltic also released the tricompax model. Very beautiful 😍 Paul newmanish Rolex daytona look...been trying to pull the trigger myself 🤞
The Bicompax is pretty nice but if you're getting a Seagull movement you might as well get a Sugess for half the price.
You might as well get the Seagull 1963 for $109
I have the silver HMS002 in 38mm and loved it. Beautiful watch. Baltic's customer service was awesome as well. They sent me a free strap when they originally sent the watch with the wrong strap.
I love my Baltic Aquascaphe bronze brown. Baltic was easy to communicate with and produces great stuff👍
Very nice looking watches indeed! Nice dial colours too. Glad they used the better movement!
The HNS002 and HMS003 are nice-looking watches. Love the sector dials and applied numerals - like Furlan Marri's "Sector", but at a fraction of the price.
And the Furlan Marri is quartz! I've never understood the hype behind them, way overpriced.
@@dinispaulino7512 The Sector has a nicely finished La Joux-Perret movemenet, with a palladium-plated tungsten rotor.
@@dinispaulino7512That FM Sector is an Automatic, Self-winding :)
Beautiful!!! I'll take the chrono then thank you!
Can’t wait to see what you’ve been cooking!
Another great reveiw as always Jody, I was recently contemplating a baltic watch but I went with a Lorier neptune instead, you should look into reviewing one it's a fantastic little watch at a great price.
So glad they've upgraded the 8215. These watches are really pretty! Think I'd actually opt for the 3 hander this time around. Really classic look
Love their classics
Great review! Might I suggest you also take a look at some Loriers? I have a Falcon and a Neptune, and they’re pretty fantastic. Definitely in the same vein as these Baltics, with the “new old stock” approach.
Love Baltic watches. Their nods to mid-century design are excellent, and beautiful. Find a photo of a 1960 Blancpain Bathescaphe, then compare it to Baltic's Aquascaphe. The influence is unmistakable, and done so well.
Not the only one - I like manual movements!
Only 1d:24m left until launch. Can't wait. Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Very nice styling.
Thanks!
Nice reviews 👏👍
I just wish they would make larger watches. My 8 1/2 wrist is too big even for a 38mm. I’ve had three 38s and all just look too small. A 36 would look like a toy watch. It’s a shame since they’re nice looking watches.
Really hyped for your watch reveal boss
Great video! Sorry for the 6 month late response. Hmmm, a $600 Bicompax with the exact same chrongraph caliber as my < $200 Red Star 1963. Both with leather straps and exhibition case backs, but my 1963 came with sapphire. Both with materials sourced in China, but Bicompax assembled in France. Bicompax is arguably more attractive (at least to some people), and has more color choices. Finish and QC on my 1963 are pretty darn good though. As a consumer, I find it a bit difficult to justify the extra $400 for the Baltic. You'd just have to love the dial design I guess.
beautiful watches! I just have a tough time spending that amount per watch!!!!
I see now where Merkur got their inspiration. Also, Miyota has handwind options that would be cheaper than a Swiss movement. Vario uses them - there's the sadly discontinued 6T33 as well as the 8N33.
I agree about a manual wind mech on the three hander, or as its non-hacking make it a two hander.
Bulova makes some extremely nice new vintage/reissue watches that are probably the best direct competition to Baltic right now. Both nice in their own way though. I wouldn’t mind owning Baltic’s small second with the micro-rotor someday.
Nearing 300k subs they should have sent you the tricompax panda! That's a looker.
I really want to add a seagull movement watch to my collection. Are you going to be getting in the Seiko Presage LE SRPK50J for review? I have already bought one so hopefully it comes next week.
Interesting comments from Ali addicts who know the price of everything and the value of nothing, me I'd be happy to pay the premium for the design. Looking forward to your big reveal this week-end too😊
The major concern is that when you go to have the Sea_Gull mechanism serviced, because of its complexity it will cost an arm and a leg at any reputable watch repairer. Nice watches though.
Microbrand and AliExpress spoiled us with specs so watching Baltic price tag is kinda....too expensive but I can't Deny the beautiful designs ha ha
9:02 ehhh … not really. The seconds chrono hand has the seconds markings, and if you’re interested enough to use the chrono, you’ll figure out the reading.
I looked at these a while ago but I was put of by the 8xxx Miyota. The lugs don't curve down so they sit well above the wrist, which looks awkward.
Nice review. I would argue Lorier does a better job creating NOS-like vintage inspired watches. And that includes acrylic crystal which some love and some hate. Personally, while I would prefer sapphire, I don’t put acrylic in the negative column either.
Would you recommend this over a furla marri?
Can you please recommend where to buy watch straps in Australia? Thanks!
Hi Jodi sorry to keep bothering you but when is your watch going to launch and do we have to wait to see it instead of the prototype?😎
And I'll tell you what ..... Baltic is a class act. Great communications, fast delivery and classic watches. I bought my cousin the blue Baltic diver (I kept my white dial for meself). I am no Angel!!
Love the three hander. Tempted as is, but if it were a California dial I'd buy one right now.
These are nice but they are expensive for essentially a watch from wish with a b on the crown and on the bicompax not even that
Random comment here! They look awesome!
Love my Baltic Aquascaphe Dual Crown, but I shan't consider one of their acrylic watches.
You made a mistake. The SW220 is Sellita's day-date automatic movement. It's the SW210 that is their manual wind movement.
They're very pretty.
Acrylic crystal, 50m water resistance, you have a very different view of a very affordable auto from me!
They look OK, but any watch in this price range with acrylic crystals and no effective water resistance is not excusable. You cann get a Hamilton in this price range with sapphire and water resistance.
can someone explain me why his prices are lower on his end than the ones i see on my end? and i even live in Belgium which is next to France...
i really like their version of salmon
The bracelet’s clasp looks awfully similar to the addiesdive ad2118 with the wave/sand pattern dial
At the risk of offending everyone … these are really nice grownup watches. Thanks Jody!
Great video! I love the salmon dial Bicompax and I also have their Aquascaphe Classic Black Cream on my wishlist.
Interesting fact - As a Glaswegian man I can (and regularly do) a very good impression of your intro. It's so good in fact I often open meetings at work with it 😂.
On their website, the 02 has a domed signed crown while the 03 has a polished flat sterile crown....interesting!
Buy this or wait for a special new microbrand I hear coming out soon?
Up to you mate! Wouldn't want to appear biased. ;)
Can’t wait for the disclaimer!
I have the seagull in a RED STAR watch it’s a great movement very swiss vintage great to look at and mine has the sapphire glass and the swan neck ALL FOR LESS than $200 US and is a great looking watch so I’m not sure where Baltic would s gonna go with this Chrono
Just saying
I never see the popup either, in any of Jody's vids. Not one. I've started several of them from the beginning, nothing in top left nor anywhere else. Usually casting via Chromecast but it doesn't show by just playing it normally either.
Neither watches do anything for me plus the ST19 and the hesalite is a no for me too
I think all Baltic watches are truly beautiful in all shapes and sizes. But the retail price is…hmmm
Great video, I've not looked at these in detail before. What odd looking watches they are. I'm wearing a 37mm Seiko which has an 18mm bracelet and that is as big as it would stand. The Baltic on the bracelet looks like a bracelet with a tiny watch squeezed in. The Bezel is huge and the dial very small, it looks completely out of proportion. I'd agree about the movement as it's got no date it doesn't need to be an auto. I think a Sellita SW216 might be better, small seconds look more vintage.
I would have bouhgt one if the movement was a swan neck version..
I would honestly overpay for the original gold plated or blue gilt hms001 three hander. Hadnt even heard of baltic back then unfortunately.
You are not alone, the 3 hander should have been hand wind. I love a hand wind watch to be honest.
Why would a mid century standard 3 hands watches most likely had manual wound movements? Auto movements had been invented and mass produced at this point but why manual was still used?
Beautiful watches, too small for my taste but still beautiful !
Definitely too small in my opinion as well.
All watch purchases (OK I forgot and bought two Invictas 🤦🏻♂️) are on hold until the JOMWatch™️ announcement Saturday 😂
there must have something special to sell out so quickly . Shame I can only over pay on the grey market. Maybe one day
The Crombies? No, that’s The Specials! Common, Jodi, you know that.
36.5mm and 38mm kind of small to me…hope they can made 40mm too
Do the Baltic watches have a price “freeze “ 😂
Erebus wen?
Getting twitchy after a few days with no jomw...
Sorry mate! I was a day late with this one. Just forgot to schedule it and got carried away yesterday. Ha!
Just building the drama, I'm sure...
Fwiw, utterly hooked on the content, now have a few pieces based on your reviews and very happy with them.
I think Baltic is just San Martin by just another name! There are just so many similarities to my San Martin GMT it's ridiculous
They're ok. Something looks off with the case. I think the lugs are too far apart. 18 would have been better.
Man sends me an email today making me wait for his announcement, and I get Baltic today...leSigh.
LeSoon! LeSaturday!
@@JustOneMoreWatch I know, but patience is troublesome.
Oh, so no Citizen gamesmanship on these sizes?
Pretty solid casual dress watches but seems a bit overpriced
Compared to what ?
It's very impressive indeed, and the price 👍 was not to like, love the vintage Vibe, a would it make since if Baltic put a manual wind.. Anyways, great looking pieces,I don't own any Baltic pieces, maybe a could be my first one. Thanks again for reviewing this micro brand. It reminds me of the Dan Henry watches... a Vintage vibe. All way from St George Utah ✌️ until next time...
I've watched you go grey Jody, and you have lost none of your zest.
EU: Brief pop-up at start, today.
click the video, hit the like button, watch video. that order all the time
no lume
Not sure why i would be happy with 50m, would always rather 100m. Also enough salmon already.
Sorry, too expensive for what they are
36mm....
I just can’t bring myself to like these. Nothing against Baltic. I’m sure they make very nice watches, but the mid century aesthetic just does not do it for me. Oddly I really like the Seagull movement. I have a watch with one and it’s the most accurate watch I’ve ever owned.
Erebus launching in 24 Hours!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
No Sapphire glass and they want 600 euro! Fk that not worth it.
I payed more than 10 times that price for a Speedmaster and, guess what? No sapphire !
@@giusepperocchi2979 I'm sorry. We all make mistakes from time to time.
@@SingleTrackMined
Yes, by AliExpress standards it’s definitely a mistake, but when you’ll learn something about horology you’ll understand it’s not.
Don't really understand what the fuss is about Baltic. All of their design is just borrowed vintage feeling, the finishing is on par with them AliExpress at best, not to mention the cheap movements they use.
300 quid with acrylic... There's just no need
To service that chronograph movement costs as much as the Watch itself. Stay away from chronos unless you’re prepared to spend big bucks on repairs when the time passes.
Ooooooooooooo Jodie, that bracelet is a real French tickler. And that HMS and the recently reviewed Beaufort are both really good looking watches.
I'm thinking you are starting to enjoy going smaller with the watchhead. And the amount of bracelet that is visible at 10:37 on the dorsal aspect of the wrist shows why, in my opinion. A much better fit and look than a dishplate strapped to the back of the hand.
I'll give a pass o your dad's hand-me-down gorgeous Breitling, though.
Jody. How can you not complain about the garbage 8 series and the crazy price for the seagull movement? It’s junk. Lorier is providing much better value with better movement. They do use the ST19 but give you so much more
I've been spoiled by Ali. All I can see is a Baltany without sapphire and worse wr for 3-5x the price.
As long as the is not a: Swiss made, made in Japan or made in Russia on the dial I won’t buy that watch. We get mad at SEIKO for using hard lex at this price point but somehow give them a pass for using the same material as swatch uses.
I am in the minority I guess - these seem so uninspired to me. Only thing remotely in their favor is if you get model with a Seagull movement. These at least look good from the back. 🤣
First
Boom! Ten points!
Just buy a vintage watch, it's not so hard to do.
Not really sold on these watches tbh. I feel like you can get a very similar piece with far better specs for 1/3rd the price with Baltany. It's not like Baltic is a big brand that warrants the price hike. I mean we give Seiko a lot of shit for using hardlex, rightfully so. But 500 to 600 bucks for a chrono that has an acrylic layer?
Like they are nice watches, but this watch is not value for money imo. It's honestly beyond me why a watch over 150 bucks would have acrylic. If there was some practical use to it, I'd understand. But there is zero reason why a dressy looking watch would need acrylic at this price point. When a 60 buck casio watch can have sapphire glass.
Can't see anything there to justify those prices - very basic movements in a very simple cheaply made watch.
I don’t see a diver. How are these the best? 😅
I recently posted on Jodie's video about his diver watch release, and gave a few essentials for what I would like...I realised afterwards I pretty much was covered by the bracelet version of the Baltic Aquascaphe!
