Il Capitano's model, however, is taller than the tale male model. It would be weird (in my mind) to release a character with an entirely new model after 4 years. Though, I will note, Natlan has been playing with the models a bit, specifically with the Masters of the Night Wind.
alhaitham randomly got newly textured armed when itto already had fine arms. they do whatever they what with models lol. but a whole new type of model instead of an edited one is weird. but there’s other characters like pierro with a similarly big body

I hard doubt Hoyoverse would pass on releasing him at his most hyped state. There is absolutely no reason for him to be released during Snezhnaya because our attention will be occupied with Columbina, Dottore, Tzaritsa and Revolutionary group characters(Tartaglias Siblings like Antonina and two older brothers) anf just regular Snezhnaya people. we can't expect a literall harbinger banner streak like they have no other characters to do. I think Pantalone and Sandrone will be released during Li Yue and Fontaine extra patches with some sort of events around them because they come from those nations and deeply rooted with them(Pantalone has a beef with Morax, whole Li Yue nation and government, the Bank of Li Yue and personal beef with Yelan who stole his present for Cryo Archon). And Sandrone was in Fontain behind scenes in sub quest about Lie detector bot and whole Narciseirocs story is her origin story.
And Columbina is currently in Natlan and she is connected to Pyro Archon. So, we might get banner of Columbina or Capitano in the latter version of Natlan

After 5.3 there will be no more Resurrection, the leylines will be fixed and Mavuika will stop being Archon because she gives up the Throne Powers back to Ronova(who dies, cuz f you God of Death, you did Khaenrians dirty) and thus ends another step to destroy Celestia and Prime God Tyranny cuz f you. And in 5.2. Capitano didn't seem to be willing to sacrifice himself, we overestimate his Chivalry with foolishness. A sacrifice is ideal in cases of no other choices, and in narrative its a cheap way to tear viewers up so it's better instead make it not happen. Capitano is the only Harbinger of Natlan so there is no reason for him to die and lose the Gnosis for the mission. I doubt other Harbingers would go to take it after he looses.
To added the injury, their was new OST dedicated to Capitano (Music looks like very sad and something). I think (???) in leaks possible Varka due to monstatds port release before Snezynaha.
The unknown character which rumored to be not from natlan might be one of harbinger cuz we all know that somehow harbinger get the gnosis from that region. And capitano has no intention of doing so , Therefore it has to be a harbinger who will take gnosis in place of captain

He won't have cryo powers for sure because he's the strongest human without any visions or delusion. If he must be playable we would probably have a quest who he will received a vision. And as a Kaenri'ah soldier he don't have any ancient name so the Ode of Ressurection won't works for him. And that was Ronova who send him to Natlan :) So he might fight again Mavuika and die this time ?
From the previous Natlan Archon Quest, we learned that to obtain an Ancient Name, one's journey must be recorded in Irminsul. Capitano, being from Khaenri'ah, presents an interesting case since Irminsul was created after Khaenri'ah's destruction. If his journey is indeed recorded in Irminsul, he might qualify for an Ancient Name. Regarding his power, we've already seen evidence of him wielding a Cryo Delusion.
