Fun little fact....in the first Home Alone movie, they only had ONE take to get the shot of Marv screaming with the spider on his face....because they didn't want to stress the spider too much. Also, the "I'll snap off your cajones and boil them in oil" line from Harry was completely ad-libbed.
Oh and didn't they add the scream later so that the spider won't freak out if he screamed when the spider is on his face?

I like how Kevin says "Sir, I'm afraid of my own shadow" after going out of his way to murder 2 people without success in the last movie and does it again shortly after this scene. I love this little psychopath.
1st two Home Alone movies are classics.
The 3rd Home Alone is a guilty pleasure when viewed as a stand-alone.
And the 4th 5th and 6th are equally the worst movies of all time

realism of the kid beating the bad guys... 3 IS real than the first two, yet the first two are beloved and 3rd... is great! all three are classics. Ignore the ripoffs!
The reason why Kevin's family was at that shitty hotel is because Kevin had his Dad's wallet.
Actually if you watch carefully you can hear Uncle Frank say ''This didn't look so bad on our honeymoon''. Indicating he chose the hotel, but understandable if you missed that.

I have now reached Home Alone 2 and found I have to explain what uncle Frank meant. He meant that if Kevin got a good look at his (Franks) wiener, he'd feel inadequate for the rest of his life because his (Kevins) wiener-size would never be able to compete with his uncles. Not a very appropriate line for a movie with a PG rating, though.

It's not surprising you had problems finding a movie with a fitting dialogue for the pizza-boy-scene. The producers did too. They had the advantage of having everything you need to make a movie at their disposal, though, so they just made a film-sequence that had the exact dialogue they needed out of whole-cloth - or as Wikipedia put it: "For the film within a film, Angels with Filthy Souls, shooting took only one day. To create the illusion that the film was a 1940s gangster film, the scene was filmed with black-and-white negative film and Johnny's office used authentic items from that era."

The neighbourhood phone lines had been damaged in a power outtage the night before the family left. That's why their alarms didn't wake them up in time and why they didn't just call Kevin at the house to see if he was all right.

I don't mean to speak ill of the dead but Roger Ebert says that he didn't like Home Alone 1 & 2 because it was unrealistic on a little kid setting traps to two burglars and them falling for it but in the 3rd movie when a kid is against FOUR burglars, it's empowering for kids and there's no criticism of it being unrealistic?
