Studied hard in undergrad covering all derivations and theoretical aspects but there is a huge gap between industry and academics. After joining a chemical process sector you realize 90 % of theory is irrelevant in an industry and no one cares if you can derive the performance equation of a PFR or not, what matters is the mundane job of repetition eg . can you manage DCS Operation in control room or operate a compressor. Thus after joining an industry everything practical has to be learned.
