Bliz does detect the cheaters, their stance is that they don't immediately care. They're just making a list of all the naughty children, checking it twice, and then banning just some of them, twice per year.

Blizzard doesn't detect the cheaters! Writing anti-cheat scripts for a videogame can be difficult because all a cheat scripts have to do is find a small work around. For example, blizzard may detect a basic "lock on model" aimbot. Now, what if the aimbot is locking on to a small certain pixel inside the model? It's the small things that are everchanging like this that allows cheats to bypass an anti-cheat script.

@@fus3n reports can be difficult. On daily average around 6.5 million players are playing overwatch. Take into account maybe there are 750,000 reports. Again, these are false numbers, just taken from chat gpts averaging tool. Now, you have a large team who sort through these. Persey 1,000 employees. They have to sit through watching hours of footage a day to then see if the report is even valid. So again, it's difficult to say blizzard is 100% banning a large number of cheaters.

9:10 one time I was playing reaper and the enemy pharah (he didn’t even know how to fly) who I killed multiple times with headshots, invited me to his party, starting cussing so hard, I didn’t even know what he was talking about at that time, then I told him “why are you raging so hard rn” he told me “that’s what a hacker hitting all heads would say” and then probably reported me, cussed some more, and left💀 (it was the best feeling in my life😂😂 I wanted him to show up in one of my games again so I can target him and kill him as much times as possible)
9:10 might i add being called a sweat on your worst/least played characters. i was only like 2 hours into genji/widow (my worst characters at the time) and getting called a sweat in lobbies when i locked in 😂 huge ego boost

The wave bans do tend to catch more people than non-wave bans. Buuut... Letting the cheater hit rank 1 gives them more bragging rights, and also puts the cheats more into the spotlight, i.e. gets the cheat devs more money as people are more interested. "Ooo that can get me to rank 1!?". They don't care if they're banned at that point, they peaked.
There needs to be a mix of mainly wave bans. But a clear rage hacker should get banned based off of reports and observation rather than a cheat detection.
Hes currently not banned, and is currently rank 11 Asia, changed name to a shorter name/word with Asian letters

I got permanently banned for playing OW2 about 10 times with an ex-cheater (I didn’t know he was a ex cheater until I later noticed the 5-year-old VAC warning on his Steam account). ( also Later he said it was for ban for tf2 when he was a kid)
The sad part is that I spent almost $300 on cosmetics and always played fair.
I’m pretty new to this game; I’ve only been playing for four months, and I used to really enjoy it. But now, I don’t care anymore.
Blizzard is unfair, and I don’t wish anything good for this company.

The cheater could've just bought a random account with the streamer mode available, and then cheated with that account.
Wave bans are good but in other games they're supplemented by manual bans too. Overwatch doesn't do that so I get where you're coming from lol.
The thing i love with the game krunker is that if you're respected in the community, the devs will give like streamers the ability to ban hackers you can report them then anyone with the power to do it can get into that game and watch it play out to see if they are hacking it's a great thing if people don't abuse it

Number one issue with this game is all of the default player icon/title/skin accounts in every game. Are they new? are they smurfing? are they cheating? Fix your game Blizzard.
there are also surprisingly alot of cheaters from gold to daimond
especially using trigger bot which u probably won't notice til u watch replay on 0.1
Cheaters hurt my feelings, and there isn't anything more important to Blizzard, than feelings.

So basically to get rank 1 on widow , because he got a 1 or 2 kills and it instantly scares people into playing passively and that creates so much space that even if he dosent land shots after that, his team can take advantage and get the kills needed to win in some situations. Altho he did lose here so thats great to see...

Streamer mode doesn't have a restriction. I turned it on, and I definitely haven't played that many games.
Overwatch does not have an anti cheat, they only detect like 3-4 memory addresses, they ban based on community reports, Most cheats run in ring 0, Overwatch cannot detect that, but kernel anti cheats also cant detect system updates such as mouse inputs, cheating is a cat and mouse game blizzard chose IMO the best way just report spectate and ban, Ik it sucks getting one but it is what it is
Outside of botting, wave banning cheaters doesn't make sense. If someone is frame by frame making the fastest possible aim route to another players head or center of hit box anticheat should flag them then if they get x amount of flags they get kicked or go by consecutive time locked on to enemy.

Immediately banning a cheater gives feedback to the cheat creator that their cheats were instantly detected, giving them information and letting them try again to get past the anti-cheat. Ban waves make it much more difficult for the people developing the cheats to try to make better cheats that are harder to detect.
okay this has been said a million times but if someone is rage hacking there is no point in waiting to ban them because at the end of the day even if it prevents cheat detection methods someone can just record and send it to blizzard for a manual ban anyways.
@@rvgr take a minute and think about how big the game Overwatch it. Think about how many people play the game. Now think about how many people report people for cheating. Now think about how much time it takes for the people working on the game to check each report that they get and determine whether or not to ban them.
Now ask yourself if expecting immediate bans are a reasonable thing.
@@paytonyoder1260 they can prioritize those tickets that have video evidence, because it would take 5 seconds to look at a player hardlocking and ban them. What is stopping blizzard to look at these RUclips videos and ban them manually? Better yet why don’t they look at replay codes of suspected cheaters in creator discords, at least the obvious ones would be banned faster.
I understand the point in ban waves but why can they not do it more often?
@@damicamarshall5255 I’m not sure why they pick the time frames that they do for it. Perhaps it’s to provide the chest providers with less info. It could be to get many players caught as possible so they potentially do a chargeback to the place they bought chests from.
Blizz first give us skins before doing something about cheaters 😢

streamers are soooo dumb with coming up with the whys of cheaters. They buy stolen accounts that have skins and everything unlocked. that is how he was in streamer mode.

@@royalgoose1415 I think the problem is if you ban them manually, say there’s 10,000 hackers. You hire 20 people to sit down all day and manually ban them, by the time they ban 300 of the 10,000. This 300 hackers are just gonna buy another account and continue doing what they’re doing and it probably takes them less then 20 minutes of work to get that next account. I feel like they need to hardware ban all the hackers but I’m sure there’s a way the hackers can get around that too by spoofing stuff or whatever. There’s just too many hackers that manually banning them would be worth paying people even minimum wage for such a temporary fix

The reason ban waves are good is so that hackers dont know which hacks specifically got them banned and its harder to improve it to bypass the anticheat in the future. In other words, its a long term investment.
That's blizzards official standpoint on it, but blizzard is also ass at maintaining overwatch and is full of marketing talk. People like this should be banned, instead of letting them ruin games for players.
