    Thanks so much for the help! I've got a hyperlite 1 set, long time Vaughn guy and I love em.

    Hey there, Thanks for the great reviews, you have helped me so many times making gear decisions. It's very difficult when you can't try things out in person. So I have been trying to decide between the hyperlite 2 and shadow pads in a custom order. I am leaning towards the shadow with stabiliflex and no calf brackets and mid shadow thigh rise stiffness and tunefit 2.0 and the vapor professor strap. Mostly because I like that calf pad and the steeper boot. Recently I have been in Vaughn V9s and I currently am in GNetik Vs with your recommended mods. I would like to get something lighter though. I was just wondering if there is considerable weight difference between the mach and the hyperlite 2. I would ask about the shadow but it doesn't look like you have tried those yet. Any other thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

      @@erikhannah2043 thanks for the kind words. I’m sure if you weighed both the Mach and Hyperlite 2 pads, one would technically be lighter by an insignificant amount. They both feel very light on your leg though. You’re not gonna have any weight issues with any Bauer pad, especially coming from Vaughn and Brian’s as you said. I haven’t had any experience with the new Shadow line, but from talking to people, they say it’s very light. I might have an opportunity to try a shadow set on for a skate or two. If I do, I’ll do another mini review like I did for the Machs.

      Ok great! Thank you for the information. I am confirming my order with Wack currently and since you are running a similar setup I thought you would be the guy to ask. Looking forward to your review on the Shadow pads.

    Try the Brian's gloves, best glove in the game. I've used Bauer many years and exactly what you said, i don't know exactly why but its not a great catching glove. haha

    How tall are you if you don't mind me asking? I am 5 foot 11 in. looking to switch from 34 +2 CCM Eflex 3 pads. I like the higher thigh rise, so I am considering going with the Large (35+1) for when I switch to the Hyperlite pad. However I have never used a modern pad that sits higher up on the skate, so I wonder if the Medium (34 +1) would maybe still be best. I understand you can't give me a definite answer, any of your input from your experiences would be greatly appreciated! Great video too btw.

      I’m 5’11, but you shouldn’t go by overall height. ATK (ankle to knee) measurement is the best way to figure out your size. I’m a 17.5 ATK.

    I never felt like 590 style gloves were ever really meant for catching ability, but for coverage. I've always had issues catching with them.

      @L7spider  6 месяцев назад +2

      It’s a lot of personal preference when it comes to that. Overall 590 works the best for me. Within the 590 gloves, some work better than others for me. My 590 Vaughn XP glove is the best I’ve ever owned.

      Personal preference. I catch by far the best with 590 style gloves. Cannot use the 600 to save my life and the 580 was just awkward for me.

    Bud would u try a warrior e6.1
    I had the hyperlite 1 set pads and mitts. I had the same problem as u with the glove. I bought a warrior glover and solved my problems.

      Oh I know Warrior gloves are good. One of my first videos was on an R/GT set and I liked the glove. As far as trying things, I’m willing to try anything, it comes down what I’m willing to drop money on. There has to be something about the gear that intrigues me enough to buy it. Nothing Warrior has put out in awhile has done that. I’m right there with you on their gloves though.

    After time, still prefer the v9 to V10?

    • @L7spider
      @L7spider  6 месяцев назад

      On pure comfort the V9 was a little better, but V10 has better performance. Kind of toss up. Either one is a good option.

    Bro… cut that f’n elastic off the damn blocker. I mod all my gear I would cut the strap and the cuff off if I need to. I guarantee in all the years you have played you have never been hit in the cuff of any blocker let alone this one

      LOL, I was really on the verge of it, I got it to stretch out enough eventually. It’s a dumb design though imo.

      Um…husband…get out of my account if you’re gonna comment on these hockey videos. I don’t need these dudes thinking I know anything about hockey, or blockers, or “modding my gear.”

      Ok so I didn’t realize it was my wife’s account, sorry! I cut the whole back padding and wrist strap off of a Vaughn catch glove because I couldn’t really flare it “fingers up” and the wrist mobility was amazing after. They always over do the protection in some areas for the “just in case” shot you might never see. In the unlikely event you do get hit there… put some ice on that shit and call it a save brother!! 🤣
