- Several combos I came up with while fiddling with combat a bit on NG+. It's possible to pull off some interesting things with environment and unlinking, so I'll probably experiment more later on.

I finished Ys VIII last year then finished tokyo xanadu just this month, now im currently playing Ys Origin and I cannot wait to beat chronicles I&II next so I have context before this game get released in the west this year.

Okay, dude. You sold me this game. I'm currently going through 9 and although I was hoping for it to be a party-based system again, I could get behind this. This is awesome.

This new Ys game combat is a bit different than the last 4 Ys games ( Ys IX, Ys VIII, Ys Memories of Celceta, and Ys SEVEN). But honestly, i can't wait for this game to be localized
It desperately needed to be different lol I think a lot of ys fans were starting to get tired of the same gameplay with a different story

@MatsuSenpaii oh I know. I'm just saying the series needed a bit of a switch up, is all. I'm very excited to play the game, but I'm a little worried about the localization after what I've heard about trails through daybreak not having the greatest localization.
One combo video is enough to get me HYPED! I know exactly what I want for Christmas this year.

Just started playing Ys 8. But Ys X looks better.
8, built for PS vita on Sonys defunct Phyre engine
10, built for Ps4/5 on Falcoms new in house engine.
I'd hope 10 would look better than 8

@@RaifSeverence 8 was using their own inhouse engine, the one they used in celceta as well. phyre engine was only used in cold steel games and tokyo xanadu

I’m assuming you’ve played an imported version of Nordics? What did you prefer from IX over X; trying to get into the Ys series, hopefully soon
@@sonicsenryaku6205 the speed, the Monstrum abilities give you a lot of mobility and let’s you teleport all over the place
9 is the "pinnacle" of that style of ys combat though.
10 is the start of a new style of ys combat.
That's like saying I prefer Ys Origins combat to ys 7s
Origin was the "pinnacle" of the Napishtim engine Ys combat, whereas 7 was the start of the party style ys combat..
Comparing it to a new combat system is disingenuous whe. By the time the combat in ys changes, that will be the best of the new style.
Thats the magic of ys games Everytime the system combat changes: 1,2,4 and dawn of ys: bump attack; 5,6 and origin introduce hack and slash to the series And vii, celceta,felghana, 8 and 9 perfects it and introduce party system.
