It is a tough place to hunt. It took us a few years to find we hunt now and kinda figure out how to hunt and where to hunt it. Hopefully this year we can capitalize on a big Catoosa buck.
We hunted there for many years. My grandfather shot a 3 point there in 1995. Never seen a deer except once I'm a blue moon a Doe once a season. After they passed the antler restrictions in 1998, never hunted there again.
There are some big ones in there now. A couple weeks ago we were up there scouting and seen around 20 just driving the gravel roads. But the bears in there are everywhere!
@@Farminginthecity yeah, I was just curious cause I don’t hunt the bicolor side. We hunt the Genesis side and camp on the road with the check in station on the Genesis side.
Anyone hunt Catoosa during archery?
Yes; camped over at Peavine; was able to score on a nice size doe; that place is tough

@@tennesseedeerhunting I can't remember what year, Early 2000's a tornado went through and did a lot of damage in Catoosa.
Going up there tomorrow for my first year hunting. Looking to camp by area 156
Good luck
What is the name of that camping area? I am doing research on the area in case I get drawn for any of the hunts for 2023. First time going. Thanks
What side you looking at hunting?
@@tennesseedeerhunting The quota hunts my group has put in for is the Genesis and Bicolor areas.

@@tennesseedeerhunting do you know the name of that road on Genesis side? So if I get drawn this year I can put it in my GPS and won't get lost.
@@Farminginthecity Wildlife Ln. off Genesis Rd. You’ll see the Check in Station.
I would say that's a quince tree.,
