I really miss these days, when Pairs Figure Skating was ballet on ice, an art, flawless, fast, and had an effortless appearance, it was also a sport which was beautiful. The pairs brought their own creativity on the ice, It was so captivating to watch. Now pairs figure skating looks the same as their competitors. Way too much emphasis on the required elements. The Russians have lost their edge in this sport. Not to say that other nations had great pairs teams.
A T Me neither, but the constant comments from the analysts really detracts. This is such a quiet but strong program, and the music, their costumes and their artistry should just be enjoyed, not blabbered over. :-)

As Such, They Would Consistently Rate Their Artistic Program Below That If G&G, And There Was Just No Comparrison. Anyone, ANYONE Can See That Not Only Were Their Autistic Style Was Then Anyone Then, And On Thtough To This Time-2017.

Mishkutenok & Dmitriev..My opinion? These two are the best skaters in the world. Dmitriev has to be considered the best male skater ever. He is a perfectionist and a terrific innovator. I think he was robbed in several competitions. If you want to watch some routines, this is good as it gets.
It's interesting hearing Verne Lundquist talk about past champions like he does here with the Protopopovs, he's talking about champions who performed long before he ever started covering the sport but he usually knows what he's talking about...It's so interesting because he obviously did not have any background in the sport of figure skating, yet he seemed to immerse himself in learning all he could about the sport for his commentary purposes and for that I have a lot of respect for him. He knew what would be interesting to the viewer a lot like Jim McKay. Terry Gannon too.
