Black people are always so adamant about a mixed person saying they are just black, as if the black side will always and automatically accept them without fail. This is not always the case. Many have been rejected by family, and/or others within the black community solely b/c they are mixed.

Her biological grandfather's name (father's side) was Francisco Nunez and when he moved to NYC changed his last name to *Carey*, a name take from his grandfather. Mariah has Multiracial heritages herself.

yes it's a culture but I'm saying that Latinos are a mixed race people; Latin Europe? I dont understand that ; Latin is an old language and the progenitor of Spanish, French, Italian etc.; I'm just explaining why "Latino" is not listed in any DNA testing b/c it's a mixed race; In DNA testing, there are Native American, Asian, African and European - that is why George's reflected African (W. African specifically) and European and some East Asian which is unique...yet George is Latino

People riding on this Venezuelan thing with Mariah are failing to realize that Slaves were brought to Venezuela. Her father had Venezuelan ancestry by way of his mother or grandmother, but was that Spanish Venezuelan or Slave blood Venezuelan? Mariah is of Irish and African descent, with maybe some European descent by way of some Spanish/Venezuelan blood. She said it clearly. In America if you have "Black" blood, that is what you are, we didn't make this up...no matter about skin color. THE LAW.

according to US documents today it is. everytime they ask a person on a document for their "ethnicity" Latino is listed separately to avoid false classifications.

The problem is just the way ppl want to use the word "latino", in europe all the countries which has the basic languare come from latin (spanish, italian, french and portughese), are the latinos of europe. In south america, (all the south america from mexico itself till the last part or argentina) are considered latino americanos, becasue where they laguage come from the euopean latin countries.
There just exist latino americanos and europena latinos. Probably is just an american wrong way to intend the word. Here in italy we do know that.

The european part is wrong. yes most are descendants from a Spaniard. BUT there's many french, Italian, Portuguese etc etc in all of central and south America. mixed and remixed. Latino is a mixture of West African, European (mostly Spain) and native American...about 12 million slaves from West Africa came to South America and the Caribbean so a vast majortiy of people from those places have some percentage of West African ancestry...and NOT EVEN 500K West African slaves came to the US; it was more like 400K! so compare that to all the millions that came to S.America and the Caribbean

Most likely it is true that Jessica Alba does not have any black ancestry. But if by some chance she did on her dad's side it wouldn't show in her the same way if George Lopez had a kid,that kid wouldn't have detectable black because George's 4% would have filtered out. But most likely it is true that Jessica Alba doesn't have any black.
How can you tell how much Latina she is? Well DNA can't tell you that. lol

She did not want to do it because she knows very well that she's going to have a very large number of European ancestry in her and she is actually more like 60 to 65% European along with only perhaps 20% or maybe just under 30% of African and in addition she might even have a little bit of Native American through her father side along with the possibility of having some sort of South Asian mixtures because a lot of Venezuelan men who are mixed with African also interacted with south Asian during the trade of slavery. When I saw a picture of Mariah Carey's father he does not look 100% of African origin sorry Mariah but you are afraid to take the DNA ancestry test because you know very well that you are not as black as you think you think you are because you're not.. for example somebody like Beyoncé would have about 60% African-American along with some native American and French because of her mother... therefore even though she has a little bit of those other mixes Beyoncé would be considered black because of the majority of the 60% African-American that she inherits but that's a whole different story for Mariah Carey
