She hated it because:
1. The AI management told her that it's gonna be a 3 judge panel. she was the last person to know that Nicki's in it.
2. At the middle of the season, they're planning to replace Mariah with jLO, in other words, they're breaking the contract w/c is not good.
3. They fucking dubbed Mariah's performance on AI and made it look like she was lip-syncing the whole time. w/c is not true.

@Rachuna Radford Mariah has done alot of ground breaking things, do your research. Shes the ONLY female artist with more #1 single hits in an industry full of men. Theres so much she has done, but shes humble enough to not dangle it in peoples faces. Stop being a hater and recognize her as the LEGEND that SHE IS

You're saying employers can divvy out large sums of money to treat their employees any way they want, and still expect appreciation from them.
You're also assuming that we place an equal value on the dollar. Yet the value is always relative to the wealth and earning potential of the subject.
She was asked about it, and she answered honestly. That shows integrity and arguably bravery. Bad mouthing should only come into play if the experience was expected but she signed on anyway. Otherwise it is considered quid pro quo. I.e. You give me money + grief, I give you work + grief.
I personally would put up with just about anything for 18 million. Unless it were legally or morally wrong. I highly doubt she was treated so poorly. If so, she wouldn't have stayed. American Idol sucks on the surface, so I am sure it sucks behind the scenes as well. I am not defending the show. You're too dramatic about all this dear. MC (as you call her), would probably even read our convo and say....it's not that big of a deal people! The bottom line, she gets paid for appearances, if you get paid 18 million dollars to do one, the situation and circumstances may not be the best, but you take the good with the bad "appreciate" the work, keep your mouth shut and keep on going!

It sucks that Mariah Carey isn't coming back to American Idol. Its not her and Nicki's fault that the ratings are falling, Nigel barely made changes to its format except for the judges. Also, the catfight was set-up by producers as publicity stunt to gain the show some attention so let's stop judging them both.

Triumphant flopped because nobody liked that she was only on a chorus. And Almost Home never charted because it was a soundtrack single. 8 times out of 10 soundtrack songs never chart. Beautiful went platinum because it was a great song and people loved it. Mariah never needed Idol for promo. She has 18 number one hits WITHOUT Idol

I love this woman. She's not a girl. She's a woman. The way she talks, clearly with an interviewer she trusted shows an entirely different side of Carey that the gutter press like to show. Even if she says, to her own admission that she's still critical of herself and her looks, etc... I see her as really wise and mellow in this interview - she's come along way and most importantly HAS REAL GIFTED TALENTED.
