Little Cimarron During High Runoff...June 7, 2024

I don't remember what the lady was doing, but she told me to go hiking. So, what's a feller to do....go hiking. I knew it might be a bit early to get to where I wanted to hike and I was right. I dodged a few snowbanks that were a bit sketchy to get around. But, then I came to avalanche debris covering the road. I could have probably pulled most of the small trees out of the way, but packed avalanche snow is another story. It was deep enough that I didn't want to risk it by myself. So, plan B was to just check out the high runoff and when I was tired of that head up on High Mesa. It was just dandy up there. On the way down I ran into a bachelor herd of bull elk. All in all, a grand day in God's creation.
