UPDATE: Apparently there is a setting on the GoPro 9 which allows you to change the front facing screen to not crop the image that you see. Exposure may also be improved on the GoPro with tweaking other settings. We will try explore these in a later video. (Thanks Brian for pointing this out).
Are these stock out of the box GoPro setting? What are you using, standard, cinema, action? Without the settings this is meaningless in regards to the issues of the GoPro and exposure
Interesting to hear your thoughts on the GoPro 9 versus the 8. I too was noticing that you could have made some changes on the G9 that would have made the earlier comparisons, more improved. they were too dark(Gopro9). I may have processed them just a little to make them match the two phones better, if settings were not closer matched prior.
Good point Tom. I hope to do more tests with the GoPro 9. You can see the 8 vs 9 we did in a previous video. There is always the challenge of whether to compare out of the box with default settings or customized. I will try to make this clearer in future videos. Thanks for all the tips.
@@theNomadReview I've been very happy with my GoPro 7 and have been tempted to get the 9 or even 8 and probably will at some point. Pretty much had all the predecessors of GoPro. Yes, phones are pretty much set already, with some small exceptional changes for some things like frame rates. GoPro has many options and necessary for individual environmental considerations. Having an iPhone 11 Pro Max has been a game changer and I use it professionally at times. Crazy what phones can do now.
@@trosencrantz Nice. Yes, I like the GoPro as to the functionality. Not a fan of the UI though :-) I am UX, UI and Product Design professionally. I am due to get the 12 Pro Max this week. Love the 11 Pro Max, except for the ultrawide angle in low light. Do you use Filmic Pro or the standard app? I'll try do a video of it against other phones, so if you have any suggestions. of what to test, let me know.

Also you can set the front view on the GoPro to show the entire frame? Did you take the time to learn the camera before reviewing it?
Thanks for raising that Brian. I will try take a look at those settings and provide an update with the video description.
Very nice pixel 4a betar

@@theNomadReview I do use Filmic pro. Could get better with it as I use it even more. Can't think of anything at the moment.
