As one with welding experience, I can tell you for a fact that the weld on the tacoma is far better than the flemzie weld on the jeep ...... guaranteed. Much better contact with more weld only makes it stronger.

Thanks for a great video on the new bumper , They call that strip where you trimmed the front ..”edge guard “ electricians use it when they have sharp edges on switch gear to prevent the electrical cables from being damaged,,, very easy to remove and replace if need be , comes in multiple colors

Hi, Rob - I have a 2017 TRD Sport and I installed the exact same bumper as yours about a year and a half ago. I have an LED light bar similar to yours and even the same red D-Rings. I've been very pleased with the bumper and have not had any issues at all with it. I've gotten numerous compliments on it. I'd be glad to send you a photo of it, if you like.

the weld ont the bumper will stand up more to impact compared to the one on the jeep yes it is not that clean of a weld but i believe it will hold better and looks great on your truck

Thanks for the video...I just ordered one...had the DV8 no cut bumper but winch placement had the line going through fairlead at almost 90 degree angle. With this will the winch get a straight pull through a fairlead?

Been looking into this bumper and my only concern is the cut on the factory bumper as well as the gap that you see. Do you think you could add an additional weather strip on top of the one provided to create a more clean and "filled in" look?
It’s all about the cut. My bumper fits under the cut area. There is no real gap.
Was noticing on your grill that you don't have a sensor in the area that the camera would go. I have a 22 with the TRD lift and the dealership installed one there. Do you have cruse in yours? I'm still trying to figure out what it's for. For the most part I'm just mad they took the spot for my anytime camera!
There is no sensor there that I’m aware of. You either have a blank or a camera I’d guess 🤔
@@RobMotive there's a wire harness from it that hooks up with the tss sensor wire harness. I'll have to ask the dealership next time I'm there. Thanks, Christian

Why not use bed liner spray on that bumper?
I believe Rob said it was powder coated and that’s the best way to go! JMHO
That may be an option down the road! Although it would probably rust underneath 😬
@@scotmetcalf2745 powder coating doesn’t hold up well at all. Specially In the northern states.
@@RobMotive it should hold up better in Texas vs Michigan. On my tundra I went with stainless steel even though a black one would have looked nicer but I can’t stand the look of rust. But could have sprayed liner material before I installed mine. You can even get them in different colors as well.
