- Metal Slug: The lost mission is a part of the Metal Slug SB Fanthology compile by Super Blinky which contains other Metal Slug games still in early access.
The Lost Mission is a well designed, challenging and fun game, I've noticed rare bugs mainly with some enemies hit-boxes & screen scrolling, got soft-locked once after falling in water.
Make sure to play on Hard to get the true end boss.
PS: Please don't mind the number of credits used 😅, the game is pretty hard and I'm rusty, this was my 3rd run.

I love how well the MSA characters translate to actual boss fights. It’s amazing and I want more.
I love how the riviere hyll actually used it's top guns in the boss fight as it never happened in game. Translated here it was amazing seeing what could've been if it weren't constrained in a mobile game.

I'll admit, seeing Perfect Jupiter King is what drove me to click on this. Despite being from the abominable Gacha genre, MSA did live up to the excellent sprite art that the series is known for. I really hope the many vehicles and/or characters it introduced become run & gun bosses/playable characters.
Yeah, and that's why MS awakening feels soulless, because they removed everything that makes it known as metal slug

Y pusieran a Midori, simón, como personajes seleccionables estaría ya buscando donde carajos descargarlo o comprarlo
no te vayas a pasar con puras unidades de msa que no todo encaja
Empieza siendo MS 1 con niveles mas largos y jefes desechados, y despues se convierte en una abominacion de sprites en cualquier parte, unidades donde no van, y escenarios sacados del forro, como la mision 4 por ejemplo, un desastre sin igual, como un choque de trenes continuo xd De verdad sugieres que "ese" tipo de calidad se incluyera en una secuela oficial, a posta le harias eso a la saga solo porque un fanmaker te compró con un par de sprites cambiados de lugar? No man, hay detalles muy buenos pero se va a pique a partir de la mision 4, insisto lol.

Lo único raro es la movilidad del personaje y enemigos xD, por último ya está bien que el Rey Júpiter Perfeccionado sea rápido en su primera forma, pero por último la segunda debería ir más lento pero con más potencia de fuego/ataque, lo encuentro raro que Allen se mueva igual de rápido que cuando tenía sus piernas normales xD
Just found out about this, goddam does this look like its made by a person who actually loved the game. The newest entry of the run and gun Metal Slug on mobile really lacked verticality, interesting level design, varying boss, and overall satisfying gameplay. The fanthology tried, if not already achieving it. Like, the ascending section before the first and second boss, the well-implemented boss from Metal Slug Attack (the gacha game), really sells it. I have a plethora of idea but i dream to be able to make these level of quality metal slug fan game. Also don't worry, your gameplay was not that rusty, you remembered to jump out of a Slug, that's already better than most people lmao
Thank you and well said, it is understood that anyone who wants to create a Metal Slug fan game has no choice but to recycle existing sprites, as each one of them is considered art and it takes a lot of skill and time to create something like that.
@@indiegamenerd Yeah, the base game sprites are well-crafted, there are reasons why many people and videos considered them to be the pinnacle of pseudo-animation. Even reusing sprites for a game is still hard, needing the sense of where and when and how often to place them.
Yeah, I felt like that SNK might’ve gave up on the mainline games. How popular is this series anyway. More in Japan than in America?

Snk should release their own super metal slug maker for fan to create their own stages and play with each other

It's a usual metal slug game until all average soldiers out there got standardized arsenal of *guns* because so far most average soldiers are only given grenades and knives which is... A little to easy,I guess?

This looks amazing, but I can't shake the feeling that there's something "off" about the animation. Like the game's framerate is somehow too smooth for the animation, and that's surprising because Metal Slug's animation is amazingly smooth.
Is that a problem?

Run "MSlugSBn VsMode 062.exe" inside the folder "files".

lol this fan made mod is way better than that weird metal slug attack game with their lazy reused assets and all those "OCs"
Honestly this entire fangame looks like a mess, just way too many enemies being spammed and constantly reused in almost every level becoming not refreshing and very repetitive to fight again and again, bad and unlogicable boss designs and obvious blatant ripoffs or merging of very familiar parts from certain MS game bosses and enemies. I don't think they get the clue what NAZCA and the original SNK developers wanted their games to be, fun, funny and refreshing, and not just throwing undespicable amounts of projectiles or cramming the player into a tight space without breathing, and most importantly, extremly lengthy levels, as Metal Slug was designed as a fast paced run and gun game, not a game where you wait and slowly chip damage of extremely tanky or clumps of enemy bosses and units.
Overall this still seems like a more solid reboot of a Metal Slug game, there are just too many flaws to point out and notably the bad and cheap (but actually effective) attempt of nostalgia baiting fans.
Cheers to the developer of this fangame in the end.

1보스 적어도 2줄 층 정돈 줬으면 더 깔끔했을듯
2보스 단순한데 2탄치고 패턴이 좀 빡빡해보임
3보스 제작자가 전면전을 너무 좋아함.
같은 패턴 3연속은 물림
패턴도 조악했음
특히 주포사격이 너무 구려
4탄 보스뿐만 아니라 맵자체가 너무 빡빡함.죽어나가는 양반이라지만 너무 탄소모에 비해 보급이 부실.
신무기를 넣은 점은 팬게임으로서 자유롭다지만 쓰레기를 만들어서 넣을거면 좀 더 넣던가 기본 총으로 어디까지 유저를 끌고가게 하는지.
보스도 탄간격이 너무 좁아서 가뜩이나 못하는 이양반이 줄쥴히 죽어나가는게 보임.
제작자가 5탄에서 줘야할건 보너스 목숨이 아니라 무기였다.
초반부 기본무기 들고 시작하는 구간이 너무 길고
중반부는 탱크를 고려했지만 그걸 터트려먹은 유저에 배려가 부족
보스는 1~4보다 훨신 나은거 같다

아주 코인을 살포하는 양반
처음 슬러그가 대응 못하는 적은 플레이어한테 큰 스트레스를 줌.
사선발사가 잘안되는 게임특성상 좀 수를 줄이던가 탄 속을 줄였으면 좋았음.
쓰레기 무기를 줄거면 적어도 바닥에 튕기는걸 줘야지 바닥을 가려가면서 튕기는 무기를 주면 어떻게함??
3이나 4보단 보급이 향상됨
보스 1페이즈는 그냥 유저를 엿멕이려는 제작사의 악의다.
메탈 원작에선 있던 슬러그를 치우면 폭격패탄선 걍 죽어야한다.
보급도 형편없어서 걍 2페이즈 연출용으로 피통을 줄였어야 할 듯. 너무 무자비하다.
2페이즈는 폰겜에서 나올 비쥬얼인데 거기서 가져왔나? 난 폰겜메탈을 안해서 모른다. 좀 보급의 간격을 줄여야한다.
텀이 너무 길다. 무기가 많으면 난도가 낮춰지지만 무기가 너무 적으면 피로감이 심해진다.
팬게임적 측면에선 훌륭한 제작이지만 여러 요인으로 인하여 조금 아쉬운 점이 보이긴한다.
벨런스 조절이 거하게 실패했지만 재미있어보이긴한다.

@@indiegamenerd YO dude i found a way. on the game menu where you select games 0:11 keep scrolling right (or left) and eventually u will reach the options picture enter it and you will be able to CHOOSE your button layout along with other things

les pediria una ayudita descarge el juego pero cuando me meti en la batalla final solo llego con el general morden en el helicoptero y ahi termino y ya puse el modo dificil pero sigue solo terminando cuando llega morden en el helicoptero sin llegar a la ultimar parte con el robot gigante jupiter

Cuphead? Blazing Chrome? Mighty Goose? Good games, but not a really successor of MS, and you know why? Becouse that pixelartists dont want to make really high quality animations like MS.
And when I present my game and updates, absolutly no one help me. People get upset because SNK doesn't take up the old MS; but when a pixelartist, with almost 10 years of experience, presents a project with the same style, and a similar quality animation as in the old MS saga, no one helps. Well, keep waiting for a Metal Slug 8 then ¬¬...
