Head in the Sand were a well know local band in Edinburgh's late 1980's and early 1990's. This was probably best illustrated by some of the prolific graffiti campaigns orchestrated throughout the city.
Murray (one of two drummers) went on to play with Aberfeldy, Unique Freak, In Decades Decline, Oi Polloi, Moniack and the Gin Goblins amongst many others. Andy (Bass) went on to play with Unique Freak, In Decades Decline, The Process and Oi Polloi.
Head in the Sand were far removed from the aforementioned members later musical pursuits though.
Not sure what the other members got up to so it would be interesting to hear if you are one of them. The band did many gigs at places like The Subway and Legends and definitely managed to captured the essence of true pop along the way despite their limited expertise in production and aspects of technical musicianship. Some good wee tunes in there though...
    We hope you agree...
Tracks were taken from 3 different demo tapes - 'One Hell of a Blow Job', 'Why Envisage I' and 'So You Wouldn't.
Original line up: John Seiler (Drums), Niall MacLeod (Keyboards), Steve Lomas (Guitar), Ken Cameron (Vocals), Nick MacCallum (Sax) and Andy Vannan (Bass)
The band were later joined by Murray Briggs on drums and Dave Gilchrist made a brief (but valuable) appearance on guitars.
Ken and Niall left after the first demo and John left after the second demo.
