Thank you so very much for this tutorial! I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to try! Because of your very thorough instructions, I just completed my version in pink to go with the Sewing Florals Journal! You are so talented and your videos are amazing. ❤
I used to make this kind of photo album in the 80s all the time! I can’t believe I never thought about making it a journal cover! Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories for me!! Beautiful cover!!
I loved this so much that I decided to make one. The only thing I did different was I decided to add some of the quilting batting to the spine before sewing it and found that worked well and I didn't have to stuff the spine. I also chose to put the spine flaps inside the spine itself instead of gluing on the outside of the spine fabric. Just my choice and I liked it. Other than that, I followed your pattern and loved how my book cover came out. Thank you for sharing your idea. It's lovely.
Thanks for sharing. You can sew through the chipboard. On my covers I like to include fabric stabilizer. I use wonder under heavy duty its paper backed fusible web. I iron that on to my cover then remove the paper and iron on a piece of muslin. I have also seen were someone used thicker batting to create a puffy cover. I really love the end result. If the fabric is thin or the color is light you get no glue seepage. I have seen a puffy cover on another YT channel.
It is absolutely beautiful!! I have seen something similar but yours is far more elaborate and I love it!! Great tutorial!! I have been looking forward to this series!!
I discovered your channel today thanks to a lady in a private group who mentioned your tutorial, well you have a new subscriber 🙂I absolutely love this puffy padded journal! As an improvement, I would sew the two edge lace ribbons together (top and down) before gluing them: less chance of them coming off and a softer feel in the hand, as well as in the structure. That way, there's only one ribbon to glue.
Great tutorial! I never made a cloth cover and after watching you and taking note of all your tips I am going to try it. You explained everything so well. Thank you so much for the list of things you used to make this gorgeous cover. 💕
This is so Awesome! I have seen these as well but never a tutorial, now I get how they did it Thank you so much you did a great job! your cover is beautiful!
Thank you Kyra, I just love this and can't wait to get to JoAnns for some fabric! The Daydream In Green kit is one of my favorites, the papers are just beautiful!
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial. I was inspired to make my first junk journal with your soft covered one but had no idea how to get started and I saw your tutorial. I am so excited to get started. Your journal is beautiful! GRACE
😍😍😍 I love it. Batting had crossed my mind before but I didn’t dwell on it. So glad you did! lol As usual, your tutorials are fabulous, and extremely helpful!! Thank you and see you in the next one!!!!!!!❤
This does remind me of photo album covers my Granny made. In fact I have one she made for my Senior year of high school some 30 years ago! Hers was a slipcover for the photo album. I think you did a great job marrying journal making this these reminiscent photo album covers!
I watched earlier, I've just came back to thank you, loved this tutorial, great job and must try, I don't journal I'm thinking sewing book, it's beautiful. PS the miniatures on your Etsy 💖💖💖Thank you.
Hugely helpful to me 👍💕 I am putting together a farm/garden journal for a Christmas present for my daughter-in-love... I have the signatures done and decorated, but have yet to do the scary cover... (This will be my first 😳). Again, this vid was so helpful... fueled my brave 🥰 Thank you 🌷💕 Blessings~~~
NOTES! -All links are in the description box for items shown. -The clasp is not Tim Holtz. It's Biaungdo, and the link is in the description box. -The Merchant 41 ribbon was from Hobby Lobby, not Michaels. -The bows and flower are satin, not silk. My bad! -The brads linked in the description are the same ones I use in the video, so, they're on the smaller side. -The ribbon I used to secure the other end of the clasp was a little small in the end, so I would recommend a wider ribbon just to be safe.
First of, thank you so much for your informative content and beautiful craft! Does any bode know what are these kind of puffy fabroc cover notebooks called? I've seen a lot of them on pinterest yet never found any on youtube and tried searching anything to find tutorials on them and this is the only thing closest to them i've ever found!
Wow this is a lovely soft cover. Maybe if you had put the clasp only on the top cover, the brads would have been long enough 🤔 but it’s simply just a beautiful cover ❤️❤️🇩🇰
Hello! We have made several journals with cereal box cardboard and glue, but I can't say how it would work with this type of journal cover specifically since I haven't tried it. I think the cereal box could work, it would just be less rigid. The sewing is kind of necessary to get that plush look on the covers, but you could certainly give it a go and see what happens!
Hello! It's our Daydream in Green series. Part 2 should pop up at the end of this video. Also, the link for the entire series (playlist) is in the video description under "more..."

Yes, we had a hard time finding them, too, which is why we made the tutorial. We've been calling them cloth, fabric or plush covers...?🤷♀
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Wow this is a lovely soft cover. Maybe if you had put the clasp only on the top cover, the brads would have been long enough 🤔 but it’s simply just a beautiful cover ❤️❤️🇩🇰
Can you use cereal box instead of separate cardboard?
Can you use glue instead of sewing?
I'm not a sewer?
