The biggest thing that makes the bolt thrower feel a lot betterin the rando is that there's randomized stats as well, so your bolt thrower had really decent stats and level ups. That added with the no delay between shots makes it feel SO much better.

I made a sort of "classic re" mod where I only ever had them drop money and there was ONLY ammo pickups. I did have them drop healing....but ONLY red and yellow, so green herbs were a MUCH more useful commodity. I love biorand.
Bolt thrower is not bad if the fire rate and the ammo capacity is high enough. It's basically the Knife of the OG RE4: you shot at enemies that are alone or in the ground at minimal/no expense.

That actually makes more sense, realistically speaking, than they dropping ammo for the guns you're carrying. Resources for making ammo and even gunpowder could also potentially make sense, since the ganados wield dynamite sticks, crossbows with fire arrows and molotov cocktails.

Something that MIGHT make your rando runs easier at the crane fight [not tested myself, but saw this in another players run.] The reason grenades speed up the wall break, is because it has a health-bar, so you can actually speed it up with gun-shots too [I don't remember the runner, but in his he had been waiting for 20 mins for ashley to break the damn wall, so tried shooting it.]
20:36 I mean people tend to have backups because the false eye does more than esthetics but has medical protective qualities. I actually knew someone who had 3 false eyes.
The reason you cant equip the laser and stock at the same time on the Red 9 is because the laser is just a better version of the stock, although the holding animation and look of the gun is still different obviously.

Well it’s always been good, it just requires a different type of play style that people aren’t able to adapt to. However the rando removes the time between shots so you can just keep shooting. I think people typically have bad game sense overall so the base bolt thrower is bad to them because you need to take into account more than just ‘shoot bad guy’. The rapid shooting the mod gives removes at least some of that responsibility from the player because they don’t need to reposition and space themselves as much. Base bolt thrower is a fantastic weapon because it’s essentially unlimited ammo assuming you line up your shots to make it so you can’t possibly shoot an unrecoverable bolt. Sure you’ll lose a few here and there and maybe one will glitch out and you’ll lose it in the enemy but it’s overall very good for ammo conservation. You can also shoot down the lantern treasures and not waste bullets. Not to mention the exclusive gives it a 20 bolt “magazine” so you can fill it up and not have to worry about carrying around bolts in your inventory. Little bit of a spiel on the bolt thrower lmao. My bad.
