I've never been to that coastal area of California. It looks so beautiful and so uncrowded. I would imagine for anyone that lives there, they must need to travel outside the area for medical and hospitals, shopping etc. It doesn't look like there is much there, unless there is more to the city than we could see in the video. Still its a place I would like to visit, as I'm getting so tired of crowded overpopulated areas.
I was born there and lived there for some time as a kid, we have a walmart and some kind of hospitality. looking back makes me wanna move back once I'm an adult
I lived there for a little while 2009 2010 2011. Nice but you could pretty much set your thermometer at 58° and that's what it is all the time. Kind of cold and windy and foggy and rains a lot in the winter but the countryside is the most stunning you could ever see. Also Jedediah Smith State redwood Park is right up the street and they have some of the biggest redwood trees in the world up there they're probably close to 20 ft in diameter at the base.
It looks nice. Currently looking at houses online and they do not seem that expensive. Thinking when I retire, wanting to leave Austin Texas. We are on our 4th month of 100 plus degree temperatures. Can't stand it anymore.
Didn't show front street or 3rd st where the business's still are. A lot has changed there. The major business's has spread out. Need narration to explain the different areas of town. Some of that area along the beach going to pebble beach was my dad's postal route.
Really it depends on what you mean by diversity. First there are the tourists keeping some money flowing for a few months a year, then the few who were simply mediocre in the big city and have made something of themselves here in podunk, corrections officers and other government workers, then there's the poor, then there's the vermin. Pretty diverse, huh?
Was just there and our E bikes had the cable cut and were stolen I was told this town is a high crime area, thanks to California's laws nothing will be done
Here from the Netherlands. It strikes me how old fashioned the roads and electrical infrastructure is. Looks mediocre. Is this standard for the rest of the usa?
They don't spend much on infrastructure here. The country has been hijacked by Wall Street, Big Pharma and military industrial complex. The government mostly works for them. Many people hold multiple jobs to survice. Be glad you are in Holland.
Netherlands..the country of free prostitution, drugs, plus colonisation including stealing, murdering and raping in africa and america and more. Real good contribution to humanity. The country became rich because they robbed and killed in other countries. So just zip it
I'm considering moving up there. Still, I need to ask: would people accept me? No, not because of my ethnicity, but I am from L.A. In Central Cal, San Francisco and L.A. have a rivalry. Watch a Dodgers and Giants game, Lakers/Clippers, and Golden State Warriors. Would the folks in Crescent be accepting of me? I know this video is a year old, but according to the USGS, every city in our State was or is in a drought. I heard that your town has, on average, around 70 inches of rain a year. I monitor your weather and our high this past year, depending on where you live in So Cal hovered between the mid-90s to nearly 130F. I want to get away from the heat. I emailed a realtor, who said it was blazing hot at around 90. See why I want to move? Finally, there is the risk of tsunamis, and I would prefer the higher grounds. Are there higher grounds? What I see blocking the possibility of moving are the Redwoods. Areas like Hiouchi, though a safe place from tsunamis, can get warm. Thank you.
You need to take a week and visit the area. Yes it can rain a lot but that's why the redwoods do so good there. People go to hiouchi and gasquet for the heat and swimming then go back to Crescent city to cool off. Yes the city was hit with tsunamis but there's areas to live out of the path. People move to Crescent city or Brookings, Oregon to retire and enjoy the redwoods there. I was born and raised there and would still be there but my kids needed the doctors they have here in the valley. There's good hiking and fishing there. No real jobs though.
@@blanco-sanchez450 I don’t know but I’d assume so to a small degree however you have to also remember Pelican Bay is crescent city’s major employment center so you have lots of law enforcement officers and their families who live there which I’m sure deters crime to an extent.
I know it doesn’t have much in the way of architecture, but I love Crescent City! The natural setting is unparalleled.
Hi here iam watching your video 🍻 from Republic of Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you for watching, Eileen 👍
I lived here for a huge chunk of my life as a kid. Awesome to see my old stomping grounds again. I really want to go back to visit some day.
Only disadvantage is No jobs , unless you want to work at pelican bay prison.

hopefully if i even can since of my disabilities
medical care is a joke and not much for shopping. The only thing the area really has is it's beauty, plenty of nice bike rides.
@yello yeah, like our sheriff quitting and moving because of Healthcare. At least we have a bowling alley again, lol.
Love surfing at south beach and pebble beach.
Thanks for the virtual drive, my 1st job was at that Burger King and WOW a harbor freight! Love that place!
Thanks for watching and commenting on my post ,Jamie👍

The big earthquake in Alaska is 64. I believe it was almost cleaned crescent city off the map. Is that correct?😊
Is there a lot of diversity in Crescent City?
No, primarily Caucasian humans with some native Americans. Talowa tribe.

How much of an impact is there living so close to Pelican Bay? Is there a lot of shadiness that happens in the town itself?
