I loved this guy and he never told me he loved me but I like to think he did... But he was so passive, and I thought it wasn't effeminate to ask him out. He got married recently, to this horrible woman who is super controlling, and he's said things sometimes during their engagement that make me think he thought of me fondly (just references only he and I knew). In many ways I'm grateful I'm where I am and he is where he is because he was so passive and reliant on someone to tell him what to do, but I really think we could have been good for one another and grown together in a way that was good for us both. Will never know... It's not the same story, or even super similar, but I relate to Anne and Gilbert and their crossing paths and the mishaps and regrets and tearing up that note seeing him at the library with that another girl because yes she does like him. Like ships in the night they criss-crossed so often--locations, feelings, readiness--the two of them. My heart strings are tugged SO HARD and many times I forget about this guy or I tell myself I'm better off, but then I see this story and similar stories where communication and timing are difficult and I KNOW the ending is so much better when things workout and people move beyond their selfishness or misapprehensions or fears or whatever to realize what they have in front of them really, really is worth it. I'm still hoping for someone some day (soon would be so nice 🙏) but what that difficult time taught me in my life is that it's worth it to try for the shy guy crush... Try to communicate, try to talk to him alone, don't miss an opportunity, don't be too proud. I hope you all have a good night. The past is a good teacher, even if it's someone else's. 🤍🤍🤍☺️
I really loved reading this, I can relate to it too. I think many of us have that special "what if" person.❤️But as you said, learn from the past. If you like someone, tell them. The worst that can happen is that they don't feel the same, but at least then you know it was never meant to be.❤️And you never know, sometimes people meet again when they least expect it.❤️

I often wonder what could’ve happened if he didn’t join the reserves. But also I’m glad it happened, that we went our separate ways because it gave me a chance to focus on myself and now I’m dating this one guy who makes me feel so special. But my friend will always be my first love. I pray that he is able to work through whatever happened.

Then I watched the “movie” from 1985 and they did such an amazing job with following the story line. I loved every minute of it.

I haven’t seen the original movies, only the Netflix show. But I still love these two. He’s loved Anne since she smashed the slate over his head. 😍 The scene when Gilbert was dying and he saw Anne and was telling her how much he loves her and how there will never be anyone for him but her made me heart break. I know he lives but it was so sad. I’m glad they finally got together and lived happily ever after. I love slow-burn ships. For me they’re the best.
Yes, it's such a beautiful story. I love that it takes them so long to be together, and for Anne to admit her feelings for him. It feels so real. I agree, slow burn ships are the best!! 🥰🥰
@@mygilbertblythee Anne starts off hating Gilbert (very "Pride And Prejudice"), then they become friends, but when he wants more, they fall out, then he gets sick, she realises she's always loved him, which leads to happily ever after. Yes, definitely the best kind of love story.

Anne took a little longer to string us along. Still the most romantic tale ever filmed in N. America. Thanks to Mr Sullivan and the fortunate circumstances to bring out this perfect tale of life in Canada at the turn of the last century.

I remember a part in the second book where Anne is trying to get rid of her freckles and ends up dyeing her nose, because she reaches for the wrong bottle. My niece has freckles, which I think are just cute (kissed by the sun), and I have told her: "Don't ever cover up your freckles!" Because they're a part of what makes her special to me.
You can really tell just how much work you have put into this! Small details like the slate breaking audio in the background when the last scene from the first movie is playing. It is paced perfectly and you tell their story in such a mesmerizing way! I like the glimpses from the past. It is an incredible edit and I will most certainly rewatch it many, many times. Also the 1985 version will always be superior :) Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie ARE Anne and Gil. Thank you so much for making this!
thank you so much for your kind words, it really means the world to me. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and that you noticed the slate at the end.❤ Yes this version is just too perfect, Megan and Jonathan really brought the characters to life like no one else can.
These films with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie mean so much to me and hold the most secret, special place in my heart. I think I’ve watched them so many times that I can recount every single line and nuance. I’ve taken bits of it in my own life .. every day IS fresh with no mistakes and what I can bring to the world - even little me.
Every time I watch this it gives me chills and makes me cry happy tears reminiscing about my childhood. Thank you for this beautiful video. I watched Anne of Green Gables when I was around nine years old when my mom was dying from the Big C.
The story of Gilbert and Anne. Timeless, and incredibly comforting. I resonate with this story and I thought I would share how so. I moved when I was 12 turning 13, to a small town. I was not the least bit excited for this move, and was not the least bit excited to meet the kids at my new church. Over the years I have had an amazing friendship, and met the annoying boys. But one of those ‘annoying boys’ turned into a very respectful, kind-hearted, God fearing young man. Over the years we were friends, if that, but over course of our time spent together it helped our friendship to grow. Eventually leading us to find interest in each other. I thought that how could I like this kid I’ve known since I was little, but it’s so clear God brought us together in His timing! It took much patience, my being confused if he would ever actually like me. To him calling my dad and asking about us courting. It’s amazing how life works out, all you need is a whole lot of faith in God’s timing, and patience. Easier said then done, right?
I watched Anne and Gilbert when I was a child and also read the books. I knew one day I will have this deep feeling of love and I already had kind of a picture in my head of "Mr. Right". So many man passed my way and life and it has been a long time I gave up hoping. ...and then he was there, just for a second (well 4 months) and my life turned upside down just to be left in pieces... since then I am making myself a better person... I remembered my thoughts and feelings as a kid... and I still *know* (from the bottom of my soul) one day they will come true.... ❤
my mother grew up with these movies and i grew up with anne with an e. while she has read the books and seen these movies, i haven’t. this edit has finally convinced me to watch the movies and read the books ❤️
I binged the aogg trilogy (a friend gave me the dvds) and then read the first 3 books and fell in love with their story. Eventually i caved and watched awae, and felt an affinity with anne. I will forever love Gilbert Blythe and miss Jonathan (although Lucas was the next best). Wonderful edit. You did such a lovely job with the quotes and scenes.
I grew up with Anne.... Related so much to her.... And now as a teacher, and having grown up, relate to her even more. What a delight to now be reading the books to my children and seeing their delight in the characters and stories just like I did long ago. This cast is magical. You forget they are acting. A classic story and classic film. Both will always be gold.
Oooh ... Aaw... This made me cry .... Thank you, because I love to cry, it is just so healing to cry ... It brings forth the soul through your eyes ... It is like turning yourself inside out. Thank you so much!!❤️ The audio is from dawson's creek, and the voice is James Van Der Beek! I think she loved him, but she wasn't ready to get married, there were so many things she wanted to do and see, she was afraid to admit her feelings for him❤️
Because at the time she genuinely believed she only loved him like a friend. She was still obsessed with this idea of her "perfect man" that she'd dreamed up as a kid, someone serious and poetic and dark. It was only after she got that exact man (Roy) that she realized she was completely wrong and she needed someone with a sense of humor, who would challenge her every day. Took her long enough!

These films really are something so special❤️

The best version ever!
This Anne of green gables will always have a soft spot on my heart. Grew up watching it, never stop watching it. The Netflix one is good but this one…
Easier said then done, right?
oh how beautiful, what a perfect love story, just like Anne and Gilbert's! ❤️
Thank you for sharing this, they will come true, I am sure of it❤
@@mygilbertblythee🥰 aah, thank you, so sweet of you 🥰
This is beautiful. Thank you ☺️
Thank you so much!❤️
This is how you do a love story not too much kisses just enough sass and bickering and in the end the perfect confession
There was a lot leading up to that kiss, considering there was not a lot of physical touching between the characters.
Erre a filmre is emlekszem,
nagyon szep, es meghato volt.
Ketszer lattam.
Gratulalok az osszes szereplonek.
Sok-sok szeretettel
❤❤

Thank you so much!❤️
Very nostalgic for me…I love Anne of Green Gables.
something about this Anne of Green Gables resonates inside me
I binged the aogg trilogy (a friend gave me the dvds) and then read the first 3 books and fell in love with their story. Eventually i caved and watched awae, and felt an affinity with anne. I will forever love Gilbert Blythe and miss Jonathan (although Lucas was the next best). Wonderful edit. You did such a lovely job with the quotes and scenes.
Thank you so much!❤️❤️❤️
I wore out VHS tapes watching these two movies in my childhood.
That's so wonderful to hear! The cast was perfect, they really brought the characters to life😊
I read all the books and it was a journey I will never forget. I saw all adaptations in movies and I love love love the characters.
Yes Lucy Maud Montgomery really knew how to write unique beautiful characters🥰
What an extraordinary, beautifully done, video. Gorgeous. Made me cry💔
Thank you so so much!!❤️❤️
Loved this version
Backbin the 80' we only had one tv channel, this was one of the series they'd show. I loved it, still do, remember I with my family used to watch it.
Anne and Gilbert, and Dawson’s creek?!?What’s better than that? Love it! :)
Thank you!!🥺❤️❤️
I was so happy to hear my favorite song when I pressed play on this 🥺 and one of my favorite movies! This is done so wonderfully thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!🥺 This makes me so happy to hear❤️❤️
Oooh ... Aaw... This made me cry ....
Thank you, because I love to cry, it is just so healing to cry ... It brings forth the soul through your eyes ... It is like turning yourself inside out.
These scenes bring back so many memories and nostalgia ...
In my opinion, these movies were the best interpretations of the Anne of Green Gables books. =Megan and Jontathan!!
Thank you, I am deeply thankful to you for sharing this!!
Greetings from Nenne in Sweden
I love the old version and the new version.
This is my favorite since early childhood the newer Netflix version is good but in a different way. This one however will always be the best.
Это невероятно красивая история о любви😍 Спасибо за это необыкновенное и воодушевляющее видео!
Thank you! Im so glad you liked it❤️
This breaks my heart. I love it and it means the world to me, but oh man it makes me feel like I'm drowning even more yk--like I'm missing out.
This is perfect and so emotional!!
Thank you! So glad you liked it❤️
this video is so heartbreaking... I adore it!
Thank you so much!!❤️
I loved! A perfect video! Incredible!
Thank you so much!!❤️
My favorite! I love the way you’ve shown the looks they shared. Gilbert’s heart is so clearly shared in the way he looked at Anne & it makes the film so much better. The music & editing is amazing! This is the best one I have seen 💗
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so glad you liked it.❤ Yes, you could see how much he loved her just by looking at his eyes.
A beautiful story.
When I took my daughters to Cape Breton for a family reunion..
We took a ferry to PEI and went to the north shore..Cavendish.
It was a wonderful trip.
NOT MY FAVORITE MOVIE WITH MY FAVORITE SONG EVER😭😭😭😭😭😭
❤️❤️❤️
Najlepsza adaptacja książki, nigdy nie będzie lepszej♥️ Ania i Gilbert idealni♥️ Spoczywaj w pokoju Johnatan Crombie ❤️🙏

Beautifully done!! 👏 👏
Thank you so much!❤
Forever my favorite movie.
Gilbert makes my heart swoon♡
Nice to meet you I am a beginner in English
I studied English words
Thank you for taking a look at my skills. Have a good time
NOW this is the relationship I want
Never settle for anything less than a Gilbert😉❤
Beautiful video! Nice job
Thank you so much!💕💕
Beautifully done. The background music is a little bit too loud for some of us older folks to hear what's being said, but otherwise great!
Thank you so much! Will definitely think about that in the next video!😊
These moves are my fave of all time
I was so sad when he died ,this series was one of my favorite I have it on DVD .
Good... Now I'm crying
❤❤
I LOVE this!!!
Can anyone tell me the male voice in the audio? It's so familiar.
I never understood why Anne rejected Gilbert when he first told her he loved her? It always seemed odd after the build up and to my memory I don't recall there being much explanation for this. And he's so damn cute 😍
Thank you so much!!❤️ The audio is from dawson's creek, and the voice is James Van Der Beek!
I think she loved him, but she wasn't ready to get married, there were so many things she wanted to do and see, she was afraid to admit her feelings for him❤️
@@mygilbertblythee oh Dawsons creek, yesss of course!!
Oh it's so lovely, I feel like I want to go back and watch it again 😊
Because at the time she genuinely believed she only loved him like a friend. She was still obsessed with this idea of her "perfect man" that she'd dreamed up as a kid, someone serious and poetic and dark. It was only after she got that exact man (Roy) that she realized she was completely wrong and she needed someone with a sense of humor, who would challenge her every day. Took her long enough!
Great great edit ! I would love to watch this version
Thank you so much!😊
