voice actor is an arab? no way, the way he speaks is more like an AI besides his arabic resembles google translation, it translates arabic words ((literally)) even if this translation tell us another meaning, only arabs like myself would get it
For whatever reason, there seems to be a lot of misconceptions and myths on how to achieve this voice. Without the Unofficial Crusader Patch, here are the legit ways you can get your engineers to speak Arabic that you're so desperate of for some reason: 1: Play Saladin's Conquest historical campaign. 2: When playing Saladin's Conquest, immediately do 1 one of 2 things: Quit and play another game mode, or load a saved game. Your engineers will speak Arabic, but only when they're manning siege engines. You don't even need to be an Arabic lord for this. Now onto the myths that I have proven to be false myself, with version 1.41 and 1.0: 1: As an Arabic lord, you may have a chance of getting Arabic engineers. False. I have restarted a mission and the game several times as the Arabic lord and my engineers didn't speak Arabic at all. 2: In the map editor, your engineers will be Arabic. False again. You'll have to do method 2 to be able to do this. 3: If you name yourself a Muslim name, your engineers will speak Arabic. Once again, false. I have tried the following names: Abdullah Amir Emir Caliph And they all didn't work. If they did work, the game would've actually recognized your names and greet you by them with voicelines the next time you boot up the game, since it has voicelines dedicated to greeting players with certain names, but this game does not have code and voicelines to recognize names of such cultists. 4: You must have more Arabic troops than European troops to get your engineers to speak Arabic. False yet again. For many years, I've spammed the cheap Arabic troops more than the expensive European ones and I've never heard my engineers speak in Arabic as a result.
"Maula" in Arabic has a wide meaning array from "Lord" and "Trusted Ally" to "Slave." In the context of the game, Maula means Lord/Lordship. *Maula/Maulai have similar context and the use varies in lingual (gramatical) and poetic sense.
They're not necessarily wrong. Some of them just sound a bit awkward. Trust me, it's way better than major Hollywood productions. At least I was able to understand what they were saying lol
