This was played today at our Christian Motorcyclist Association Season of Refreshing 2013 in Columbus , Ohio. When I saw this it really hit me . I have heard this and sang it many times, but this with the story behind it...all I can say it WOW. Let's take this song and lyrics more seriously now.

The most important tging about this song is the message that the words of the song carties. But I want to clarify one thing. The story behind the song is very facinating, but it is false. This song is not that "old", our tribe celebrated 150 years of Christianity in 2018. The sad thing is that there is no official documentation of the song. There was some research done by the Baptist Convention recently and it was concluded that the song was composed by a man named Simeon Marak and his family still resides in Assam. No one from the family was killed by bows and arrows.
Nevertheless, it's not so much the "history" of who wrote the song, but the "message" that's more important.
