Leveling up vs cutting out, I could understand if you were using an existing surface. Since you removed the surface and replaced it, to me it would have been better to build the section where the saw is, at a lower level. The shim up is good, except it kills all the surface area behind it.

Thank you for watching and for your input. I went back and forth on shining vs I guess built in. This to me was less thought and made the most sense. I have bins that go behind the fence so the space is being used.
