I am a Bengali non Brahmin born in the General category... I learned the scriptures myself with the help of eminent Gurus and their books, and perform my own yajnas, pujas myself including our most elaborate Durga Puja which even many of the inexperienced Brahmin family born men doesn't dare to. Interestingly, not a single Brahmin has ever asked me "Why are you performing pujas, you are not a Brahmin". It's often people from other communities including my own relatives who have asked the same!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Project Shivoham Videos inspires a lot and I am always passionate to hear more from you. Your dedication to exploring ancient Hindu scriptures like Vedas, Puranas, and Upanishads is truly commendable 🙏 . Feels blessed to be born in a sanathana dharma culture keep continuing your great work 🙏
I cant be any more grateful to you for this video. I have been struggling all my life to understand all that you have mentioned here. I am blessed to have come across this video. Thank you so very much 🙏 Requesting you to please do a video on 'If women were doing the death rituals for their parents in our Sanatana Dharma when they were the only child'.
If that woman has a son, he gets to do. If she doesn't have son, her husband need to do. If she doesn't have husband, she can do. Why this job is given to men where possible? Sathras are made for the average human. Average women will get nightmare to watch last rituals. Women are kept at home while men take care of last rituals. Sathras are not final, dhaarma is final. Dharma changes based on situation. Even killing can be dharma. While in general killing isn't dharma, its adhrma. Dharma > sathsra
One of the best 1:30 hrs spent on RUclips.. Thx for all your efforts and sharing the information with the world. This is my first comment over a decade of watching RUclips.
shows your intelligence levels. just getting swayed by gimmicks. the video is misinformation from the creators of dravidian movt and a century of brahmin hate in tamilnadu. ascribing everything to the british, when in fact, they are the source of all the hate and malice.
Mindset is what matters in today's day and age. I come from a Havyaka Brahmin family where traditions are respected but at the same time my parents have always taught me to never judge a person based on their background. No restrictions have ever been placed on me making friends with people of other castes and my dad has even made it clear that i can marry anyone i wish to. My non-Brahmin friends are actually more casteist than my Brahmin ones. People opening their minds and removing the caste political angle is what is needed to solve this issue, but ofc that is easier said than done.
@@pranavprabhakar9Yes, nobody is born a brahmin but that's how the constitution identifies you. You cannot become a shudra and obtain a backward caste certificate today just because you don't know the Vedas. Be a little more sensible before making such dumb comments!
@@pranavprabhakar9 What a stupid comment to make. Whether I am a Brahmin through my actions is irrelevant because I, and every other Hindu in this country is classified into castes on the basis of lineage by the constitution and our census, regardless of the Vedic requirements. Is this wrong, yes, but it is what is. Changing the system is much more difficult than people opening up their minds and working together towards building an inclusive society (ie: the point I was trying to make in the original comment). And just as a matter of fact, i have indeed made an effort towards trying to understand the Vedas. I have started learning Sanskrit for the past few months so that I can grasp the knowledge without the need for too many translations. It will take a long time, perhaps my entire life in order to understand the the vast trove of knowledge held in our Shastras, but I am definitely dedicated towards it.
Thank you só much for this informations. I’m from Brasil and here in Western, we got stuck in Vedic studies because of the lack of true sources. Your knowledge feeds me and makes me have more hungry for search more and more. Hari Ohm!
Also I heard Dronacharya himself said that although he is born a brahmin but since his work is related to Warfare and weapons he identifies himself as a Kshatriya although he was a teacher. That's why he also participated in wars
The Vedas do not say that caste is determined by birth. Rather, Shri Krishna explains in the Bhagavad Gita that a person's caste is determined by "guna" and "karma" (characteristics and actions of the person). the birthright is Kaitava Dharma (deceit religion). In addition, it is explained in the Vedas that in Kali-yuga every person is born as Shudra. A brahmana is one who has realized the Brahman, which means that one has realized that one is not the body but a spiritual soul. Such a person can live in celibacy without any problems and is only sexually active when it comes to fathering a child. In addition, the consciousness of the parents during the conception of the child should be as pure as possible, free from passion (rajaguna) and tamaguna (ignorance). So there are only a few in our age who are allowed to call themselves Brahmana and those who do it anyway even though they don't have the qualifications are nothing but hypocrites and are only deceiving themselves... no good karma for the next life. Hare Krishna! 🙏
This truly helped me understand the nuances and also educate my parents. If you can please let me know the sources you study these from that would be really helpfull.
Same bro even If I tell them about who is real brahmin they say, so what they are brahmin by birth, like they don't even know there should nothing exists " by birth "

@@anshupandit4490 That sounds like BS. Brahmin isn't a caste name. Each caste that calls itself Brahmin has its own name. They are not allowed to marry outside that (not even other casts that calls themselves Brahmins). How did these groups(caste isn't right word)? These groups are followers of certain interpretation of Vedas or puranas. They all have their own most valued scripts. They is never been single bramin caste. Its modern idea to call they all Brahmins.
Personally, I appreciate the Brahmin community for upholding our civilisational knowledge despite the insurmountable odds Bharath and Sanatana Dharma has faced. Correction, not just Bharath but the whole world................. .............................................................................. If I recollect reading somewhere, there were 36 known major civilistions from real antiquity ( _Abrahamic ones are relatively newer ones, so, as far as I can remember they don't count_ ). All of them perished except in Bharath. We are the only surviving one -- hence, the jealous targetting by outside forces. We are the only living link to the long dead civilisations .......................................................................................................... Military solutions can only take you so far, but the knowledge systems ( _especially the oral transmission knowledge system_ ) have proven to be the most successful ones in preservation of our civilisation, it is time tested as well. .................. ................................................ My only criticism is that rest of the society has been kept out of this knowledge stream and the Brahmin community itself has become ossified. .................................................................. Some dynamism in the community with updation of handling of contemporary issues would revive the knowledge community. ..........................................................Sanskrit as a national language can spread the knowledge outside the community and provide access to classical literature to one and all. It also acts as a glue language to various other Indian languages. ..................................................... Just basic level Sanskrit, not elaborate "granthika" version ( _if there is a difference_ ) would do. While there are pretty good translations in other languages, the ability to access source material would greatly attach one towards the quest for traditional knowledge.
*Bhārata. Even though Chapters 19-24 (bar Chapter 22) amply explicates the underlying principle for the NATURAL system of class structure of adult males within society, and for the NATURAL hierarchy of collective humanity, based on the obvious fact that equality is non-existent in the macro sphere, and the fact that human society, as with most animal species, requires specialization in order to properly function, the following Glossary entry has been included simply due to the fact that Bhāratīya (Indian) society has become adulterated by a gross misunderstanding of this NATURAL hierarchical structure over the past few centuries, and the fact that Indians are most likely to comprehend this Holy Scripture. caste: This English term originates from the mid sixteenth century (in the general sense “race, breed”): from Spanish and Portuguese “casta” (“lineage, race, breed”), feminine of “casto” (meaning “pure, unmixed”), from Latin “castus” (meaning “chaste”). Therefore, the term “caste” should NEVER be used instead of “class”, and especially ought not be conflated with the notion of “varna” (literally, “colour”), an ancient Sanskrit word that refers to the natural-born proclivities of adult males and their occupations. As clearly explained in Chapter 19 of this “A Final Instruction Sheet for Humanity”, the division of adult males into four social classes (that is, priests, kings, businessmen, and workers) has absolutely naught to do with one’s birth but ENTIRELY dependent upon a man’s innate qualities and the kind of work he is performing (“guṇa-karma-vibhāgaśaḥ”, in Sanskrit). Of course, it may seem rather bewildering to consider that a man born to a carpenter, for instance, has the opportunity to break away from his social milieux/circumstances and become a king, for example, but it does happen more often than one may believe. In my own particular case, I was born the son of a working-class man (an aircraft instrument maker, to be precise), yet in my early twenties, became attracted to the monastic life, swiftly becoming a member of the Holy Priesthood, and eventually the current World Teacher Himself. If I had not joined the priesthood, but had decided to devote my adult life to some kind of manual work, such as that of my father, I would still probably have embodied the priestly qualities enumerated in Chapter 20 (since that is my nature) but I could not in all honestly claim to be a priest/guru, because my occupation would have been other than that of a spiritual guide, at the risk of stating the obvious. So, in summary, it is ABSOLUTELY imperative that, in order to claim that any particular man is a member of any particular social class, that he both exemplifies the pertinent qualities of the particular class and actually works in that class (although, at the risk of sounding sophistic, only members of the working class, by definition, work - priests and monarchs, for instance, have a “vocation”). Therefore, there is no such thing as a child or a woman belonging to any social class. As a child, I was not a member of the working class, even though my father was a worker, since, as a child, I did not work, nor was I member of the Priesthood, since I had yet to join the monastery/seminary until I was well into adulthood. Similarly, there is most definitely no such thing, for example, as a “Brahmin* woman”, since, excepting extenuating circumstances, women can not and should not perform male roles. *Brāhmaṇa
You are right. To teach others not only the teacher but the student also should be (capable of) interest in the learning { which is called Jignyasa in Sanskrit}. So that's why some of the students like Ekalavya for example is rejected. It's because of his impatience. If you are a Telugu person then I am telling you to watch the upanyas of Bhagavad Gita by TTD came at Corona time. So Sanskrit is so complicated in it's grammar or poetic meter it is hard to learn it. so, that's why it can't be a national language and this is another reason for the birth of Indian languages.
Dude, restricting learning to one caste or group does not classify as furthering knowledge. Of course there were many bright Brahmins (geniuses, really) but who knows what all progress would have been made if 85% of the population were also educated. If you ask me the slow death of Sanskrit has been at the hand of the Brahmins. Pardon me if my words hurt, but I say it only because I believe it to be fact.
@@desibigfoot3874 You only need to look around you at the people outside, and how the world looks with democracy, to see that you would not have had the same results if you had let everyone have a hand in guarding sacred knowledge. People lack intelligence and virtue. They just survive from day to day. What's created by the wise can only be sustained by selected people. Naturally, their descendants will also have higher intellect. You get the same effect with horses, dogs, cows and other animals. You can selectively breed traits. In animals, this is called animal husbandry, but its real name is eugenics. Take Indian religions completely out of the equation and let's look at science and maths. In the UK, there are many poor and ignorant white working class people. Those people can take a fully funded (by the taxpayer) degree in maths, and go instantly into a very highly paid job. So why don't they? The problem is ability. Even though there are no entry barriers, they cannot do that degree. Humans are not as smart as you think, so it's necessary to select for positive traits and repress undesirable ones. If you leave breeding in the hands of nature, you get strong humans, with big p3nis, strong disease resistance, big muscles, etc. In classical India they began to select specific traits to specific jobs. Then it was observed that training (education) was mostly father to son. Then it was observed that the children of educated people are naturally brighter and can learn things easier. What use is it to teach a farmer the Vedas? He is the best at farming and his son is strong at wielding farm tools. When you look at teachers' children they are, likewise, smarter than factory worker children, even to this day. This is the reasoning that has brought you the Vedas intact in 2024, memorised by generations of genetically selected people over thousands of years. Just the facts.

Hi i am from Malaysia, we dont have much knowledge about all of this here , some of us still chose to be ignorant. I am so grateful that I found this channel. You have enlightened my ignorant mind. Now, I am learning Sanskrit and rereading the Yoga Sutra from swami Vivekananda's commentary. I will continue to equip myself with knowledge from our sutras, puranas, Vedas, and other related texts. I will proudly say this is where it all begins.
This clearly helps me to do my duties & rituals, which I’m inconsistently doing these days, due to Corporate work pressure. Thank u for an eye opening video ❤️
I am an atheist and come from a leftist background. And I had my fair share of criticism against Hinduism for propagating caste system. But I see a deeply researched documentary! A film that doesn’t take sides with hideous agenda. The video just explains the evolution of the Hindu dharma with all its glitters and flaws. I had been waiting for something unbiased on this issue and man you just served truth like no other mainstream organisation ever did. I think Project Shivoham is a well researched content that will be referenced for writing thesis in the future coz it has no agenda but the truth. 😮
As a Neutral and Theist many like me think that, Left ideology is proven to be very harmful for Countries!!! The left has destroyed tens of countries! Except china which was a kind of a mixture of nationalism and communism Left ideology looks like cancer
I am a non-brahmin, married to a Brahmin man but me and my parents are being awfully discriminated against by my in-laws, except my husband. So, I desperately want my son (who is just 18 months old now )to watch this entire video so that he grows up to be a better human being and learns to respect every living being for who they are. But I am not sure if this vdo will be available on the internet till he grows up. I will try to preserve it for him some how. I would like to praise the creator for making this remarkable masterpiece for our generation. Thank you for this great contribution.❤
Ya whole idea about the authors stupid cultural bharat zeal😅😅😅. Go check out the books Ancient Indians, Indians for the true picture if not the whole picture
Forget entering temples by dalits. In the olden days, Brahmins were not allowed to enter temples if they crossed the seas until they did prayaschit My grandfather was not allowed to emter the temple after his return from Europe unless he did ptayaschit inspite of being a Brahmin Growing up, as a telugu Brahmin woman, we were not allowed to enter the kitchen or puja room im the house during menstruation The practice of sutak when there is a birth or death in the family When a baby is born, both mother and child were not touched for 3 days Maybe there was a scientific reason to keep the infection, which was misinterpreted as discrimination
Omg!! Same for me except we are non brahmin. My great grandad was not allowed to enter temple because he sent his son (my grandad) overseas for studies, and also because he was educating his daughters.
Obviously there is.. Coz u might know that Indian sailors often caught a sickness from sea that's caused by deficiency of vitC ,later they caught some bacterias that continuously spreaded amongst others.. It has happened with the Mayans and Aztecs due to Spanish colonialism.. So , ancient people had the notion that sea sailors often catch some viruses from other foreign lands..

Strength of this author of Project Shivoham is that he bases his views and interpretations on the ORIGINAL Sacred Works and second, he is firmly based on UNIFYING view of Sanatana Dharma because he is upported by the original Sacred Works!!
Thanks for making this video and many such other videos on different matters. I am always interested in knowing about the history, culture and traditions of Bharat. I try to read scriptures of ancient times and your informative video makes things more interesting and inspire me to do more research myself. You said right that we need to read out scriptures so that we can know the truth and this is the only way that can prevent us from becoming fool. It's sad that most of us without understanding the context making fun of our culture and traditions. I thank you a lot for the work your are doing.
1:26:00 Absolutely true that most temples were/are governed by Brahmins and they are responsible for barring of untouchables in temples. But did they create the norms for untouchability? Isn't it that Shudras were untouchables for all Varnas in the society and not just for Brahmins? When all other Varnas also treated them as untouchables, why are we blaming only Brahmins for it? What was the real reason the society created untouchability? Was it because of hygiene? Or stopping deceases from spreading into society? There must be a strong reason behind it. Even today, we won't shake hand with someone who has just come out of toilet. Even today, we are scared to go near someone who has serious skin problems. Is that the beginning of untouchability? I don't support it but want to understand how it started and got stuck to specific people in the society.
You are right. My house is surrounded by Dalit community and government gave them toilet also . But still they don't use toilet and pollute the environment. They really don't care about hygiene. So it's difficult for everyone to eat from their hand . But at the same time, many people are changing and we shouldn't judge anyone based on Caste
@DesiLaunde-um7dq If the law is just, it will have no qualms with Dharma. Even if doesn't happen in India, other Dharmic cultures would happily aim for it. Just out of curiosity, what is your problem with Dharma?
From the Dao Dejing: "The dao that can be spoken of is not the real dao." China, prior to foreign occupation, was a Dharmic culture influenced by Buddhism. Daoism, Confucianism and Buddhism syncretized quite well; hence, "Dao" and "Dharma" are not too distinct from one another and why I quoted the Dao Dejing. Dao is often translated as "the way"; Dharma as "righteousness". Among the strengths of ancient India was its acceptance of religious diversity and respect for each to follow their own path. The example you gave regarding Krishna cheating Karna exhibits the complexity of the concept. Fortunately, there are no gods among us to overturn what we know to be right. Dharmic renaissance is largely cultural. Would it have effects on law and politics? Just as much as other beliefs adopted the people whether religious or secular. Let us also not think that secularism is a desirable feature of society. Many nontheistic ideologies which are essentially are the substitute of religions proliferate and cause much damage to the society. Not to mention Abrahamic culture which has carved up countries and dragged them into conflict.
@DesiLaunde-um7dq A good question to which I now will try and provide an answer. I am not sure if this is the right explanantion or even makes sense but Karna as a person has his crests and troughs. He was a great archer, student and friend. He even donated his kavach kundal knowing it was Indra asking for it! I have the utmost respect for this side of him. Now to come to his troughs, he as a friend never corrected the ways to Duryodhana, he blindly supported him in his endeavours. Even though one can say that Duryodhana helped him but the way he returned back the favour was not just. Even when Duryodhana ne Draupadi ka chir haran krne ko bola us bhari samaj me, Karn ne kch nahi kiya. So he did fail as a warrior who is supposed to protect the helpless. Here Shri Krishna too is binded by Karma and just. He has to ensure as a saarthi and as a bearer of Dharma that the one in wrong should not win over Dharma. Karn even though he had his crests was supporting the one in wrong. So Krishna did what his karma was to win over the wrong
Life is not absolute. Nature is not absolute. Dharma is not absolute. Dharma is "sukshmn"......it's the most beautiful doctrine for a neutral seeking mind to understand ..... 'neutral and seeking' being the operative words. DHARMA IS SANATAN.....TIMELESS...
Dhaan also means letting go.. A father is letting go of his daughter who he loved and took care of all of his life for the betterment of the future and dharma.. thats the beauty of sanathan dharma
Omg....just wat I need....such deep work...am so much grateful to you n ur team for putting this out....just no words...thank you frm bottom of my heart!!!
One of the best videos I have watched in recent times. Tons of thanks to Project Shivoham and hope to watch more such videos in future. In present time, the main problem is that most of the Hindus do not really know and understand what is Hinduism. Performing pujas, putting tikas on their forehead, listening 'Kathas' and 'Pravachans' from Babajis and Gurujis and stuffs like these are considered as being Hindus and following Hinduism. We need to educate people to make them understand the main concepts and essence of Hinduism so that all the people from North, South, East or West understand Hinduism in the same light .
It is an amazing research work and lot of enlightenment for the dummies, who don't know anything about the subject but they just pick few words to make unwanted noice. Thank you for your great work.

Such a wonderfully well researched and perfectly delivered presentation. So objectively done. A 360 degree exploration of the topic. The best work on the subject I have come across, while you show so much love and understanding of our Shrutis, our most ancient knowledge systems and finally how the interpretations, translations and other factors led to where we are today. This video came just in time. I was watching some video, where the narrative remain same the caste is originated from 'Casta' & British used it to divide us & blame is on Manusmiriti. I was thinking this discrimination existed even before Buddha period, which is long before Manusmiriti first edition. There are many stories of Buddha's time, where someone was discriminated, defamed & abused. In Buddha Sangha, everybody was equal from king to fisher man. Another dimension of casteism is British created Criminal Caste & Tribe Act of 1871, in which he put all those caste & tribe, who rebels against British & fought for motherland. But, most of the people don't want to acknowledge our filth. Loss of BharatVarsha consciousness, which made us disintegrated before Invaders. Back to 2024, still casteism is prevalent be it matrimony or many stories of my friends. Those were painful story & then i don't defend Hinduism. Not sure, if our 'Vivek Bhuddi' went to wool gathering despite of some much literature we had. But you nailed it perfectly by saying 'learn your tradition' & example of 'Ram Nami Samaj' Fortunately, we got a lot of literature to learn & grow, but somehow people are complacent to remain illiterate & be happy with offering Coconut, sweets , flower etc & Shouting 'Jai Sanatani. That's entire hinduism for them I have been learning many stuff about our tradition, meaning behind it & Ancient Indian contribution. Your channel is always a blessing.
What a fantastic job you have done!! It would be really nice if you have all references in description. This should go on government website. I agree - India needs to work on fixing the gaps without blaming anyone as we cannot go back in past to correct anything but we can build better future. Hindus please unite - everyone suffered for centuries and everyone has contributed to keep our civilization strong. We failed as we were divided at some stage, there was some were greed and somewhere we may not be strong enough to give up constant invasions. But we have glorious future with all the knowledge we have. Let us break any divide within us - all Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Buddhist and many other faiths of Sanatan Dharma, we are rivers ultimately merging together. Please don’t create more hate and divisions on name of caste 🙏🙏🙏
Shudras were allowed entry in the temples. It is the Dalits who are denied entry. The temple entry movement in the south is for the Dalits. Nandanar was a dalit. Not a Shudra. Untouchables are not part of Shudra community. The Dalits were not part of the four Varna system. Brahmins alone were not responsible for untouchability. The ruling class like Cholas were not Brahmins and the system of untouchability could not have existed without their agreement. This is not to say that Brahmins were not complicit, but untouchability could not have existed without widespread support from the society.
As usual pass the blame on others. The cholas kept quite bcos the aryans go to the extent of killing the kings if their superemcy was touvhed like they killed adhitya chola. Like they killed the grandson of ashoka like they killed ghandhi.like they killed the Buddhist monks. Histroy has all evil finger prints. So dont escape
@@BeRight4u Aditya Chola may have been killed by Brahmins, but that had nothing to do with Aryan. The Brahmins were from the Pandya kingdom and were taking revenge for the killing of their king by Aditya Chola. I think you did not read my comment properly. I said `This is not to say Brahmins were not complicit..'. All varnas and jathis have carried out atrocities. Look up the Kizhvenmani incident where Dalits were burnt alive by a landowner from the Naidu caste. According to the recent report, the people who mixed human faeces with the drinking water of Dalits are not Brahmins. The trouble in Draupadi Amman temple is not due to Brahmins. Many Dalit boys who married girls from OBC castes were murdered in public places by men from the girl's side. So, own up your share like I have owned up my share.
there is no such thing dalit exists in sanatana scriptures it's just four vernas that's it this dalit word nowhere exists in scriptures of sanatana dharma my challenge to you , find and show me dalit word existence, it's only four vernas and they are equal!!!

Wow! I watched it in one go and it felt like 5 min ....even though I listen to you (always) at 75% speed, and pause and repeat as needed..... thanks for your research, it's cut about the rest 😊😊😊
Urilinga peddi similar to Nandanar is greatly respected by Veerashsiva Scholars and people due to his immense contributions to Vachana Shastra. He was also given respectable posotion in society where he setup large number of Mutts to teach principles of Veerashaivism.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in educating us about our culture and traditions !! I don’t believe much in religion and its practices but I take good from any religion! We need people like you in all religions to make us understand the nuances and values that exist and let us decide what is right and wrong for us!! Today, there is so much hatred amongst people from different religions and cultures which is not required. All religions preach the same thing that we are all equal and should be treated with respect and compassion!! I request you to come up with such interesting topics and throw light on issues that were miss led in the name of propaganda and misinformation and let us/ them decide what they think!!
As always it was a pleasure watching the video. The title brings lots of curiosity and it increases as you start explaining in detail. Appreciate all the efforts you are making to educate people like me. I say it because, there's very little effort I put to learn beyond what you have mentioned in the video or probably wait for some other situation to do some searching. Thanks for giving us more information ☺️ ☺️☺️
Wonderful discourse, such talks are very important for modern people, who have doubts about their Dharma, culture and rituals! Discrimination is found in the families of modern Shudras!
I'm watching this because I have a lot of Indians who moved into my community and I want to learn more about India without bias. Speaking as a white Canadian myself I'm just here because I want to learn.
Listening to this gentlemen makes me think our world will be alright. Many thanks!! (As third gen USA citizen, great grand child of Swedish immigrants, c.1904 I feel lucky I have been able to learn so much being too lazy to learn any language but English (minute bit of Sanskrit)) Jai Guru Dev

I was born in a Bramhin family. But you brother are a true bramhin by your nature and deeds as described by Bhagwaan Krishna. Absorbing and distributing the knowledge of the Vedas are qualities of a Bramhin. Namostute 🙏
There is some detailed evidence in ancient texts and puranas to indicate that caste was a horizontal construct prior to the islamic invasions. There were many castes but not in a top down hierarchy. You could belong to any caste and still have the knowledge imparted provided you were fit to receive the knowledge. Then the brutal islamic invasion turned this horizontal caste system into a vertical hierarchy one and this was done I guess to preserve the knowledge system from being erased completely. But over time this hierarchy became rigid and oppressive.
Before Christianity came to India, what was the situation of caste system. What about the education? Who had the privilege to be educated? Reflect more.
Dark side of Brahmin, nowadays no respect for true Brahmin by the Brahmin people itself leave of others disrespecting Brahmin .selfishness, jealousy ego , leg pulling ,envy took over dharma

Even now most of the Lingayat community women in rural and in some orthodox families in urban areas do wear the sacred thread or yagnopavidam with a small lingam tied to it. But this practice is gradually waning away with youngsters due perhaps to the liberal ideas and modern concepts creeping into their society as well
@41:43 - Exactly, you need to learn the local language where it is absolutely necessary. For example, if you have to take an auto-rickshaw and the driver doesn't speak any other language except the local one, it's mandatory. How can you survive in a different place if you don't know how to communicate? When I say learn the local language, I don't mean starting from the letters and mastering it-absolutely not. At least know the minimum that gets your work done. For example, in my previous auto-rickshaw scenario, you must be able to say things like "hello," "how are you," "this is my destination," "how much is the fare," and "thank you." That's it, right? Invaders divided our country based on hundreds of parameters, and language is one of the crucial ones. We are still fighting over it.
If those who were incharge of temple had learned a lesson from nandhanar's life , then why does the gate through which nandanar tried to enter is still closed. Why further case of discrimination after Nandanar's period, if their mistake has been realised?
22:08 dronacharaya can be at best blamed for favorism for arjun( as a stident, not as a prince)...but not discriminative on the basis of caste. That's a lie used for conversions. In that sense he was favouring arjun over other princes too, wasn't he? So no question of caste based discrimination, just a teacher with his favorite student
Dronacharya was by no means a model Brahmin. He took up martial training of the princes of Hastinapura with the primary objective of avenging himself against Drupada, who, forgetting their childhood friendship had spurned and insulted Drona at a time of dire need. One of the conditions of service with Dhritarashtra was that he would not instruct any other students other than the Kaurava and Pandava princes. Ekalavya was the son of the chief of the Nishadhas a powerful group of warrior clans. (The famous king Nala was a king of the Nishadhas). Drona thus was duty bound to ensure that none excelled the cousins in battle prowess especially a student of his. There was a possibility that the Nishadhas would in future fight with the Kurus. There was no caste element in the Ekalavya episode.
In what was supposed to be a dharma yudha where mahrathis will fight only maharathis, drona, when he became commander skew 10000 common soldiers every day to please duryodhana. He would fight against Pandavas even though he believed them to be right (maybe for material benefits). He could have opted out of joining any side.
*Excellent video. You are a true saviour of Hindu Dharma.* *For most of the Hindus, Hinduism is about Gnan Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, etc. and a way to improve our current life and our future lives as well as reaching Moksha.* *However for far left people who are anti Hindus, Hinduism is all about caste system, Sati system, opression of people, etc. But surprisingly, even the Hindus on far right who are known as Trads, Hinduism is all about rigid casteism (jati varnashram), glorifying Sati system, celebrating Manu Smruti, etc. And if you observe well, then both the far leftists and Trad Hindus are supporters of castiest Congress party which hates Hindutva (Unification of Hindus). So both the far leftists as well as the Trad Hindus are both equally anti Hindus.* *The only way to end casteism is that more and more Hindus should do inter caste marriages and more and more Hindus must study the Vaidik Shastras.*
Bro you have used the word Hindu many times, Can you please explain what that term means? what does hindu really mean? You seem to know like you know it.
@@stalinsamprasHindu means who has high thinking in all areas of his life. Hindu means who upholds dharma and stand against adharma. This is mentioned in Shaiva Agamas directly said by Shiva Bhagavan. You will get it if you search it. There are two shlokas clearly explaining it.
@@stalinsampras The word Hindu has multiple meanings. According to Meru Tantra, the word Hindu means a person living in the land in between Himalayas and Indu Mahasagar (Indian Ocean) which is the geographical definition. According to one book attributed to Madhavacharya, Hindu is a person who is a follower of the Vedas and hence it is associated with the term Aastika (A believer of Vedas). The term Hindu can refer to a group of thousands of different Indic religions which revolve around the Vedic Scriptures. Hinduism is not one religion, but a group of thousands of different Indic religions. That's both a positive side as well as a negative side of the Hindu society.
I come from a lineage of Brahmins in Kolkata, and I admire your dedication to your work. It's evident that many Bengali Brahmins face barriers in performing traditional rituals due to the suppression inflicted by the British colonial era, which has hindered our cultural evolution compared to Brahmins from regions like UP, Bihar, and Rajasthan. I believe it's crucial to revive our ancestral traditions and encourage young Brahmins to pursue the path of learned priesthood to preserve our timeless heritage. Let's work together to reclaim our past glory and ensure the continuation of our cherished traditions for generations to come.😊
You have an excellent grasp of Sanatan Dharma. You are doing great service for the humanity. I always believed that our Dharma never tells us to discriminate among people. We are all made of certain qualities and Dharma tells us to serve the whole humanity equally. I have great respect for you.

Great work brother!

Thank you for asking this question, really good question.
It's really good question and I am waiting fir an answer for this query from project shivoham
This is my first comment over a decade of watching RUclips.

the video is misinformation from the creators of dravidian movt and a century of brahmin hate in tamilnadu. ascribing everything to the british, when in fact, they are the source of all the hate and malice.
Worthy of attention and time spent.
Amazing work. Keep digging the history and traditions more
Mindset is what matters in today's day and age.
Nobody is born a Brahmin. Do you know Vedas that you call yourself a Brahmin?

Hello
Also I heard Dronacharya himself said that although he is born a brahmin but since his work is related to Warfare and weapons he identifies himself as a Kshatriya although he was a teacher. That's why he also participated in wars
What is the source ?
source: he made it the fk up
It was said in the gita
Idk which exact part of gita but somewhere in it cause my mother who have read it said that it is said like that in it
Caste in olden times was fluid. We changed it and made it rigid.
It's called kshatravenu Brahmin. Now a Kshtriya. Ina kshatravenu Brahmin too (and a MMA fighter carrying the tradition lol.)

First of all Bagavadgita don't say anything about cast at all. It talks about verna (the coloring of mental nature).
this is a fake theory that is debunked many times. Stop the raita posting
Stop using the word Caste but use the Varna

This is the essence. Born as Brahmins Vs learned , practising Brahmins .

This is the one of the best documentaries I have ever watched on RUclips and immediately I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for the great work.
Thank for your efforts.
Forget entering temples by dalits.
In the olden days, Brahmins were not allowed to enter temples if they crossed the seas until they did prayaschit
My grandfather was not allowed to emter the temple after his return from Europe unless he did ptayaschit inspite of being a Brahmin
Growing up, as a telugu Brahmin woman, we were not allowed to enter the kitchen or puja room im the house during menstruation
The practice of sutak when there is a birth or death in the family
When a baby is born, both mother and child were not touched for 3 days
Maybe there was a scientific reason to keep the infection, which was misinterpreted as discrimination
Omg!! Same for me except we are non brahmin. My great grandad was not allowed to enter temple because he sent his son (my grandad) overseas for studies, and also because he was educating his daughters.
Nope there exists no scientific truth in it, it's just pseudo-science driven dogmas and superstitions only
Obviously there is..
@@MsLuminous no we never faced it as such..
But our neighbor was banned from any temple coz he killed thirteen man and sa*d 5 women and killed the cattles just for his sadistic fun .
It was quite an uproar..
He was a waste who continuously abused his wife until she became a mad women and died in her father's house.. he became alcoholic..
He died at the age of 87..
It was a real life Terror😅
Please read the book Rtuvidya for your answers regarding the science behind ancient menstrual practices .
A great documentary that talks unbiased from all sides. Being together and equal is need of the time . Be united. Do not waste time in being cunning, quarellsome putting our great great culture down. Move up and ahead. Carry our great culture and not hatred for the later generations. ❤
Cannot thank you enough for making this. Sick of outsiders telling us about our culture.
Please keep up the great work you are doing.
Strength of this author of Project Shivoham is that he bases his views and interpretations on the ORIGINAL Sacred Works and second, he is firmly based on UNIFYING view of Sanatana Dharma because he is upported by the original Sacred Works!!
Very informative and thought provoking documentary. Thanks & Kudos for the hard work and research you have done to produce this documentary.
Thank you for your time and effort in bringing these infotainment documentaries. I know a simple thanks would not do the justice for your hard work.
This is just amazing. Thank you sir for sharing this amazing information. I learned many things by watching this.
Why didn't I hear this before ? I have been looking for all these answers for years together!
Once again, I find the "like" button insufficient.
We must recognize the problems in order to reform. Only then could there be a Dharmic Renaissance.
@DesiLaunde-um7dq If the law is just, it will have no qualms with Dharma. Even if doesn't happen in India, other Dharmic cultures would happily aim for it.
Just out of curiosity, what is your problem with Dharma?
From the Dao Dejing: "The dao that can be spoken of is not the real dao."
China, prior to foreign occupation, was a Dharmic culture influenced by Buddhism.
Thanks!
Eye opener .. thank you so much for extensive research and presentation.. 🙏
The incident of satyakaam jabaal is the prime example of the highest level of liberalism of thought that our great wise men had.
Thanks
This is gold. I wish this video reaches everybody 🙏. Hands down, Absolutely great work 🙌
Thank you brother! This project and this piece are an absolute inspiration for me to restart my knowledge journey into the Vedas!

You are sincerely appreciated for all depth of research, citations, references, presentation, rationality ! You also put forward an important message of difference between Truth and Ultimate Source of Information,Perspective, narrative, Propaganda which Always LOST in media ( whatever be the medium)
Well done Project Shiviham! I hope many people get to see such invaluable work!

But you nailed it perfectly by saying 'learn your tradition' & example of 'Ram Nami Samaj'
Fortunately, we got a lot of literature to learn & grow, but somehow people are complacent to remain illiterate & be happy with offering Coconut, sweets , flower etc & Shouting 'Jai Sanatani. That's entire hinduism for them
I have been learning many stuff about our tradition, meaning behind it & Ancient Indian contribution.
Such good documentary ❤ Thank you so much for creating this master piece 🙏
Thanks for making such a detailed video, it was really an eye opener.

Your research and voice exude a profound sense of reverence and respect, a testament to your deep understanding of the subject matter. It is rare for me to maintain such unwavering attention for extended periods, yet your video held me captivated for an hour and a half. I express my heartfelt gratitude for your courageous exploration of topics often left untouched, presented with an unwavering commitment to truth and impartiality. May the blessings of Lord Shiva continue to illuminate your path. Thank you immensely for your invaluable contributions.
Very precisely, concisely and authorstively you have established that caste system is not of recent origin and has been followed as per Vedas. There is nothing in the Vedas to conclude caste by birth. Thanks for the elusidating presentation. God bless you.
This channel should reach at least 10M subscribers. ❤

Great job with the objectivity that you articulated to cut through the misconceptions.
It is non-Brahmins who aee caste now. In TN, most politicians uphold caste feelings personally.
It is very educative & puts me into a deep thinking into the subject. Astonished at the vast knowledge of our ancestors.

What about wich burning by Christians in europe where women whare allowed to stusy
Dark side of Brahmin, nowadays no respect for true Brahmin by the Brahmin people itself leave of others disrespecting Brahmin .selfishness, jealousy ego , leg pulling ,envy took over dharma
I applaud your balanced approach and thorough research in any topic you pick up. As usual, great job here too. 👍

Even now most of the Lingayat community women in rural and in some orthodox families in urban areas do wear the sacred thread or yagnopavidam with a small lingam tied to it. But this practice is gradually waning away with youngsters due perhaps to the liberal ideas and modern concepts creeping into their society as well
how will basavanna feel if he see present day lingayats .

You are a true saviour of Hindu Dharma.*
*For most of the Hindus, Hinduism is about Gnan Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Karma Yoga, etc. and a way to improve our current life and our future lives as well as reaching Moksha.*
*However for far left people who are anti Hindus, Hinduism is all about caste system, Sati system, opression of people, etc. So both the far leftists as well as the Trad Hindus are both equally anti Hindus.*
*The only way to end casteism is that more and more Hindus should do inter caste marriages and more and more Hindus must study the Vaidik Shastras.*
Yes this is what we want. We have to identify our enemies outside as well as within our society.
@@inmyworld97 Lol who has high thinking itseems?? What about things said by Krinsha in Bhagvat gita??
