Was fortunate enough to get several bottles of the 2022 release for a fair price. After several swings and misses, the whisky gods smiled upon me. Haha. GREAT and honest whisky!

I used to dream about them releasing this bottle. Now I have many of them in my bunker. The '22 is PERFECT.

I truly enjoy all three of these Bunnahabhain expressions... 12, 12 CS and 18.

Hi Jason! Great to see you Back in your Wheelhouse!!! Nobody does sherried scotches any better than you. I have a bottle of the 2021 and I’m really having a hard time finding the 2022 here in the States. Your review was so detailed I feel like I’ve tasted them both side by side! An outstanding review! Second to none! Thanks for sharing!

WOW! I'm so used to seeing you rate C- to C+ ratings to Whiskies that I am shocked to witness an A to A+. Thank God I bought backups of this bottling to enjoy for years to come. :)

Great video thanks for posting this. I'm big a Bunnahabhain fan but tend to like the peated ones more, Staoisha especially. Finding the CS 12 is hard in these parts. Keep these videos coming.

My favorite Bunnahabhain was a Moine Marsala bottled early in 2019, and my favorite Islay whisky was the Lagavulin 12 from 2014. Try and fine those!

I did a blind between these two. The 22 got the win. I agree the 22 has a higher percentage of Sherry casks. The 21 is more like a deluxe version of the standard 12

Looking forward to open both of these. I paid more for the 2021. The way thing are going the $100 for a 750ml, age stated official bottling is better than $10/ year for other 70cl options.
However I did spend over $200 for a 16 Year Moine. They do peat really well. I'm glad it will become less rare moving forward. Young Stoiasha is a great dram also.
Since I've seen a few 2021vs2022 videos, I went back to the original 12 I never finished. Tremendous whisky. Way more than my beginner palate could decipher.

@@WhiskyJason1 the Bunnahabhain 12 should satisfy most people. I just can't imagine a whisky life without a journey of exploration. Didn't Ralfy drink that for many years?
As an example of unique malt whisky, I was drinking a 46% Ardnamurchin last night. Not great. It's young and green, mildly peated and a little weird. But totally different from anything else I have.
I love a good ECBP but in the end bourbon is just bourbon.
John from Just Whisky, gave you some credit yesterday for your video as he did the comparison for 2nd time. Stick around (or skip) to the end it's good.

    Hi Jason
I watched your video a couple of months ago and went on the look out for the bunnahabhain 12year old cask strength 2022, because I already had the 2021 and loved it, I went on the bunnahabhain website and was going to buy 2 bottles of it, but they wanted a wapping $185.00 dollars for shipping, and I'm not going to pay that for any whiskey, so I waited for it to hit the market, and low and behold I saw it at spec's liquor in Texas, so I drove 100 miles to pick it up, and I bought 3 bottles out of case of 6, and man I'm glad I did, this expression is the best I have ever had of any I have ever tasted and drank, I'm with you on this one, it is stupendous to me, I hope everyone can get it, because it is worth it, I payed $87.00 dollars per bottle, and they gave me $5.00 Dollar off per bottle, thank you for the great review and tasting notes of bunnahabhain, I have many bottles of bunnahabhain, and I have never been disappointed with any bunnahabhain ever, cheers brother and keep up the great reviews !!!

I have the 2021 and it's great. Just received the 2022 and I will taste it this weekend. Do you know if this is going to be an annual release? The next level would be a 12 yr single cask, cask strength. Great comparison.

Eh.. It's an ok whisky, I don't get the fuss to be honest. It's yet another modern release swamped by the casks, there's hardly any distillery character to be found anymore. Which is a shame, because Bunnahabhain in refill oloroso can be so beautiful, even at a young age already.
