Love watching this from Melbourne, Australia. The improvement in your riding is immense April , well done. Kyle, hope you’re back to full health now, as you’re killing it!
Your riding has improved so much April just a pleasure watching you conquer your fears. Loved seeing you and Kyle in Bentonville. Be safe your friend Doug (the old guy with the broken arm😞)
Chiming in to agree with the others, April is killing it! That young lad was seriously sending it too. Kyle & April you two have the best tutorials that have helped me with my own riding and watching April progress using the same techniques it's amazing to go back to early videos and see the comparison to now. Cheers for the content!
Dear kyle and April, just wanted to give you folks a gesture of appreciation. Im 66 yrs old and just recently got back into Mt. Biking. Last time was mid 1990's. I have been really enjoying your videos. I saw one of y'all in Bentonville and i live in NE OK. You have really inspired me. Have some great trails here but looking forward to AR. I just ordered a Ferrazi Abajo. Let them know it was a number of things but after watching you guys i thought itwould be a good choice. Thank you i feel confident i made a good decision. Tom
Kyle, It's increadible how fast and saf you rock the trails 🚀Just as amazing how April's practise pays off, very inspiring 💡 Apart from that, the real feature of this video is her purple bike in combo with the pink gear. A most def style statement, love it! :)
Yeah its funny how our perception of our own abilities can differ from what other people see, she has so much control now and i think this year she will really be able to step things up a bit!
NSCMTB Coach, killing it! April ya got it if you can ride Upper Park that seems slightly more tame...it some spots. Thanks for the content Kyle & April! Safe travels see ya next time in your in Chico Brother.
Looks like fun! The Fezzaris are quite composed. Set up the suspension, set the tire pressure for the conditions and go ride. The extra 20-30mm travel can't hurt there can it? Oh, yeah, the bigger brakes help too.
Super cute is right. Lol. Congrats Kyle first, and second to April for that sweet rig. My wife will only ride on sidewalks w me. My teenage son is on my wheel when I think I dropped him. LOL.
@KyleAprilRideMTB I remember when it was a skinny bridge, I watched someone's wheel slip off the side right at the top. They went OTBs and slid face first down the rock. (I thought he was done for right as he was going OTB. He did ride away from it!
Great video, as usual. April, that last rock you were fearful of reminded me that the mind is our greatest enemy when it comes to conquering the unknown. How to reduce fear and increase confidence? It's difficult, but I encourage you to develop strategies to deal with it. For example, ask yourself, "What is it about this drop that I am afraid of? Well, it's steep, but I've done steeper and longer, so that is not it. That drop at the end? The drops I learned on were much bigger, I know I can do that, therefore, I know I can do this." Then, you watch Kyle make the run and you ask yourself, "is there anything about this that I can't do? No! Lastly, you tell yourself the most important part. "I'm good; therefore I can do this," or "I can do anything you set my mind to," or, my favorite, "no guts, no glory. Go for it!" Choose words that resonate with you and make them your mantra. Lastly, you may have convinced yourself to make that attempt, but fear is probably still lurking in your brain. Before you make your attempt, try to relax. Deep breaths, close your eyes and imagine yourself successfully making the attempt. Focus on one technique that you need to remember to be successful such as body position when you make the drop. That keeps your mind focused on what it needs to be focused on, not "I hope I don't fall!" Fear is hard to defeat because it is your mind and emotions. I find having a strategy in place to change your mindset helps greatly. I watched you go down that rock-garden and laugh when you made a small mistake and I knew right then that you were a highly capable rider. You really are good, so believe it and trust yourself. Hope that helps. Best of luck!
All great tips and I know many of them well, sometimes when you are in the moment it is just scary. But I hit it easy and overcame the fear quickly! I even made a video a while back going over some tips that I use for my fears ruclips.net/video/V2yEZQbpZck/видео.html
La Sal V1 pilot and Smoke Jumper is my all time favorite trail. Looks like the run in to the slab has improved from a log skinny and then steep easel. Hope Trail Party event is running this year.
as a dutch person this looks way to easy because we literally grow up with bikes. (0.43 till 0.53) everything we do is on a bicycle but on camera you dont really see how steep something is. definitely wanna go to the U.S. to try it out :o looks so cool also that kid is a psycho on the bike :P he's really good, man sending it as hard as he can
What a great trail (+ lovely scenary), rather technical (euphorism for dangerous/scary), such that I'd have to pass on that steep rock jump near the end (leave it to you brave experts).
@@AprilRideMTBwe have been mostly riding the e bikes lol.. but soon we are hiking the dogs into one of our fav camps this 4th to hide them from the firworks. no bikes allowed on this trail but should be relaxing..
Kyle, how has your health been? You always make it look easy no matter what, just wondered if you're back strong again after all the problems last year or so? Wish you both the best. A pleasure watching your content and great personalities.
Hey Kevin, to be totally honest it has been getting better over time but i'm still nowhere near where i used to be with my heart. I have been having some issues riding my non ebike lately, if i ride more than 1-2 days a week or if i really push my heart rate then i will deal with chest pain and elevated HR for a few days to a week afterwards. Recently i have been trying to get out on mellow ebike rides and XC rides on some of the flatter trails but its pretty frustrating to say the least. I feel like i can ride downhill pretty well, but climbing or flat sprints really bother my heart still. I am hoping it will continue to get better. I am a lot better than this time last year so i am holding out hope but it has definitely changed my relationship with riding quite a bit. We do really enjoy it and enjoy making the videos for everyone, sometimes i just feel like a poser a little bit because i haven't been able to ride much outside of filming days.
@@AprilRideMTB I figured that might be the case. I feel for you. I was tore up bad from racing dirt bikes. Had a bad knee for years till I was falling a lot. Question for you: I have a feature near me like the one at 15:40 and it just looks like it would be so easy to overjump and miss the ramp entirely. Is that actually true or am I visualizing it wrong?
Its really hard to say without seeing it in person but i feel like often times they do build stuff like this a little too tight. As long as you are aware of the chance of landing a little flat though you can usually brace for it pretty well and absorb it. Maybe see if someone can give you a tow in to check your speed!
How do people afford those bikes! I can't imagine. I don't even have cars that cost that much, and yet I see these kids all riding $10,000 bikes!!!! I was thinking maybe of upgrading to a full Suspension then saw the prices, and holy cow, I can't believe people have this kind of money

I can't believe how quick April's skills have increased in such a short time. The result of lots of hard work, I'm sure.
Yeah, but she does have all the help and advice 24/7 from pro-rider next to her, right! 🙂

He’s such a stud!!
"Oh dear!" Good vibes, great riding, plush camera work. K + A up on the shred! 🙌

This may sound weird, but I really love that thump the bikes make when they land a corner on both wheels equally.
Not weird at all haha! It’s super satisfying!
Oh I love yhat on my hardtail too..
