Guys I apologize I made a mistake there was supposed to be my score/what hole/par of the hole, in the top right corner of the screen… Not sure what happened in the transferring process, Hopefully you still enjoy the video! I hope I talked enough about the holes so its not too confusing

In my opinion, if you aren't mad at yourself for missing short putts and not playing to your potential, you aren't passionate enough about the game. Don't get down on yourself for being angry, just don't dwell on it.
Enjoy your videos Ben and this is a learning experience. You will sort this out. My only advice
wear a lot of sunscreen. Back in the day I started playing at age 7 and was a club pro for 36 yrs.
We didn't wear hats much and sunscreen wasn't around until the 90's and didn't wear it.
Now in my late 70's have skin cancer on my face cut out. You don't want this. Best Wishes.

Ben, Independence is the toughest golf courses Ive ever played. Do not be angry about some of those shots yourself out you played unbelievable
I’ve played Indy hundreds of times, it’s one of the most basic tracks in VA 😂 besides the greens being fast there is literally nothing hard about the course.
A 17 year old tore it up and had to play one day in terrible weather

I know you probably have aspirations for some sort of professional competitive golf in the near future and that is great. You are a remarkably good golfer and can only get better. But in the meantime, you are a "hit" You Tube Golfer and it looks like your subscribers and viewers are growing at a pretty fast pace. All in all, you are a very successful young man. Keep up the good work, but don't forget to enjoy life.
Patience and consistency will get you past this era and into a better level of confidence. You were nearly off your feet swinging so hard off the tee much of the time.... your swing is built for tempo and grace. Rooting for you.

Bro this reminded me of me yesterday except my tee shots were down the middle. I haven’t played in a while and just had 2nd shots between 30 and 110 yards all day. I couldn’t hit a half decent wedge shot to save my life but par’d out the last 12 holes lmao.
Great video Ben. Cool to see the other side of you. I believe you will get out of this slump. I feel like I have played terrible in golf tournaments but all I do is go back to what I liked when I was playing good. Hope you get out of this slump soon good luck!

I know you've pretty much acknowledged this already but I feel like your ball striking is already amazing.. your short game particularly your putting is holding you back. You could really be putting up some insane scores if you were getting those putts to drop. That and your mental game. Would highly recommend reading Mind Gym by Gary Mack if you haven't already. It will change your golf life.
after watching the entire video you definitely need to read mind gym all the way through.. I feel like the harder the shot is the better you hit it because you aren't feeling the pressure of expectation. That book has all the answers
The pause is such an interesting thing to be able to watch during the round. You can tell when you are comfortable and when youre not based on how long the pause is. First tee pause was so quick, then hole 2 and 3 look like your normal pause amount. I know its subconscious and you probably aren't even thinking about it.

Hey Ben I was watching how you were doing on the leaderboard last week but I won’t spoil it
I saw Patrick Gareiss was playing in it, he’s a member at my club
He said he knew you from other tournaments
You need to live on the putter draw back practice routine… gotta make 10 perfect paced putts in a row from 5ft, 7ft, and 10ft. If ball is short by any amount, or past the hole by more than 3 ft you start over from that distance… feel like your missing the short ones because sometimes you firm it, it sometimes you drip it, and sometimes your looking for perfect pace… that’s awesome strategy for lag putting, but for 15ft and in pick one strategy so you can find what works for you, it will help match up your reads with your pace, over time your eyes will see your desired lines as it memorizes your normal pace and you’ll see them falling in the cup! Do what you do best, find the pace that works best for you, and putt them all that way.

Easier said then done, but I feel like a lot of the issues you're having is mental, you'll never be able to fix your swing in the middle of a round/competition, need to work with what you have on the day. Will only get better over time the more competitions you play, rooting for you!

Ben, my dad lives in Fredericksburg. We golf at Pendleton all the time. It’s a great condintioned course with amazing greens. Very difficult and fun. You should try it

Don't get used to me wearing a hat.....proceeds to birdie the first hole.
Hit more fairways. Took me almost a fuli year to find it. Everything gets better exponentially.
I played a lot of junior golf in the 2000s at Independence and the course was never like this. I heard that around 2013-2014, they changed the course. The greens right now are fast as fuck. I was at the state open this year, but played terribly and didn't make the cut.

A great piece of advice I’ve got is train a swing or feeling when you practice, but then on course swing instinctively. Possibly why you are so good out of the rough and sand. You’re forced to swing without thinking mechanics, just the feeling of hitting and shaping the ball.

Tough third round. Overall good video and commentary. I’m not one to give advice but I think you are correct with sticking to one game plan and grind out some practices. I would not change the putting. You were so close on many putts. The ones within 3 feet, not good.

ben do you really think the pause is going to help you or make you worse i only say because the golf swing isnt a static movement its always flowing so i feel like when you pause you are making that window for error bigger

Do you need a video editor for your videos? I'm skilled with Davinci + Premiere + A little AE. Can color-grade + I know the intricate details with editing for youtube (like the proper loudness -14LUFS)
Also I'm a scratch golfer + watch golf content on RUclips, so I have a good finger on what people want with their content.

Your putting and short game is fine, yes you missed some opportunities, but you were putting pressure on your putting because you were consistently missing fairways off the tee.
