I'm playing and improvising over my leadsheet pretty straight (more in a "classical style" and not as my usual jazz persona) by using Rachmaninoff's original harmony. Although the composer created not only a gorgeous melody & bass line, he wrote chords such as Major 7ths, V7b9, sus4s, Minor 9ths into his work!
Wow! Great idea for jazz pianists at a gig where some “sophisticated” guest comes up and asks for classical music 😉 You should make a collection of lead sheets following this idea. 👍🏻
This is extremely well done. This is what piano lessons should actually be about. I can see and octave is big stretch for you.
Thank you Joe!🎹Glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Yes an octave is about as far as I can stretch.
Another great video from one of the best! Thanks for sharing Debbie.
Ahh, thanks so much Tony! 🎹

Love you honey Debbie
Fascinating! I thought you were a straight jazz artist! You do it all!
Every now and then I go back to my classical roots, thanks Robert!
