Melody Collins composed her own "contrafact" - this term means creating a new melody over the same chords as a different composition - This one is based on the original standard "Just Friends" - Ms. Collins wrote original lyrics to be performed as a vocal duet, completing the story to become "More Than Just Friends". Contrafacts have been done going back to pre-classical music, over hymns (familiar music to popular drinking songs got changed a bit and sacred lyrics were added) Contrafacts were commonplace especially during The Bebop Era composed by jazz musicians like Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie! (Think of all the tunes based on "I Got Rhythm" for example)
